Own with Order

This is a sure-fire way to win every castle seige with Order. (I'm sure the majority of you know this, but htere might be a couple who don't) After you have killed the enemy ranged units, the A.I. will automatically defend just out of range of your ranged units. Wait all your ranged units and your heroe. When its the heroes turn, simply cast Displace and move the unit toward the wall. It should now be in range of your ranged units. repeat until you win! The best part about this strategy is you take few,if any, loses.

I put those tips before in tips & tricks thread but it fits here and expand your idea:

Two quick tips:

with the Order mage: u can create an illusion and than cast town gate - u will be back to the castle but your illusion will stay and keep fighting... !

If u r attacking a castle try to summon imps before doing any action, the AI will usually do nothing so u can stack up a few hundreds or more of imps (or others) and than attack with a powerfull advantage !!!

A couple of other nasty Order tricks in seiges

Teleport works on the enemy, too. And, it works on a hero with GM Magic Resistance ... can you say "gang pummelling"? Here, Mr Barbarian ..say hello to my Dragon Golems ...

Fun with higher level spells: Berserk his nastiest stack. Repeatedly.  Then Slow it when it's the only stack left, and Berserk it again. Meanwhile, if you have mages, Poison it as well. It'll come outside where you can use the aforementioned gang pummelling. For even more fun, Hypnotize. (Insert evil laugh here)

And don't forget the simple Dispell or Forgetfullness.

We won't even begin to discuss the ways Genies can screw up castle defenders ....

In that case, I will.
Man I love genies. I usually attack castles with my hero (of course), one large stack of genies, four stacks of one genie, and a small stack of dragon golums. with the stacks of one genie, I use them to cast song of peace on the spell casters and shooters, while I use my large stack of genies to create illusions of my dragon golums. Once this stack is large enough, I can then attack the castle. Most of the times when i use this tactic, i can take a castle without any friendly casualties.

I think the castels should have had an auto turret of some sort so these ridiculous strategy's for 0 casualties can't continue, i mean in a real castle siege is the enemy just going to sit there and let you bash down their walls? Just bothers me..... hey patch, patch my old buddy! where ya been?

Hmm ... this isn't something which requires an auto-turret, it's just that the AI hasn't realised that it no longer has an auto-turret, and therefore doesn't charge when it should.  Which it should.

i've said it before but i'll say it again, as have many others.

the ai is bloody awful. why can't someone tell my why the ai has gone downhill. isn't there supposed to be improvements in sequals. honestly, h4 on advanced is the same difficulty as h3 on easy. is this another example of 3do trying to attract new players by abandoning their faithful fans?
