Quite possible if:
1. Religion is scrapped.
2. All people are educated.
These 2 are the main reason for 98% of wars IMO!

It seems that people are getting a little off topic to what I stated earlier, but oh well.
I'll restate it again, is it possible to live in a utiopian society?

Im going to go with your subective enterpretation of this, and then the answer is no, never is it possible to live in a utopian society. You mean a society where ppl care and everyone is nice and there are no problems or injustices.
This is not the utopia for anyone except hippocrites.
All humans are ruled by the will to surpass his fellow humans, to create an evolutionary advantage for him/her and his offspring. This is hardly combinable with your idea of a utopia. In fact, your idea of utopia exists because you instinctively want everyone else to treat *you* like that, but deep inside, you still want to get advantages. Money, power, a good house when someone has worse living than you.
If you want to start on a utopia u could always give your house to some homeless people or crack addicts, since they might be worse off than you. Such a thought is crazy, because thatīs not what anyone of us wants.
We want to keep our priviliges, and aquire more of them. That is the kind of society we have, and the kind of society we will have.
But, this does not mean we are screwed. There are small things we can improve, like getting as rid of violence as possible, and making laws against oppression. These things are good for those who have alot of priviliges already, and are likely to happen. I am one of them and the things I hope for is peace, the continuation of my lifestyle, and that I get all the things I want, be they abstract or concrete.
You canīt expect a starving man to not try to kill you to steal your food. You can only try to feed him or prevent him from succeeding.

When I was just a little boy I got the impression that my mother did not like me unless I was good. I got the impression that "bad" people are not to be liked by anyone. And I wanted to be liked by people so I decided that I will be good.
Then I got the impression that stupid people are not to be liked because they are not like others. And the ones not like others must be stupid. So I decided to be smart.
Then I learned that being smart means surpassing other people in knowledge and achievements. So in order to be smart I needed to have people around me who are less smart and have less achievements and knowledge, or else I wouldn't be smart and people wouldn't like me.
I also adopted the habbit of not liking "bad" and "stupid" people, because I decided that if others see me with them, they will think I'm bad and stupid too and will not like me. So I decided to like only good and smart people.
So I would need power and advantage to be smart, and to manipulate others around me into being good.

Utopia... no. Not unless a truly benevolent dictator comes along... but then, it's not going to be EVERYONE'S idea of a utopia, is it, because people resent being told what's best for them.
We can, however, raise the standard of the whole. Take a look at poverty in America. There are a number of people in America who are poor and suffer from malnutrition. But if you compare their lack of food to the people who live daily lives as "middle class" in a village in Somalia or Bangladesh or Ethiopia.. they eat like kings. So the standard has been raised for everyone, even though there is still a BIG gap between the haves and the have nots.
Still, it doesn't solve the fact that there will ALWAYS be someone who is unhappy with the way things are. That's why the ideals behind true communism, though noble, don't work in real life.. it relies on the idea that the haves should willingly give to the have nots, so that everyone can have, equally. Many of the haves worked hard for what they got, and they thought... I worked for it, so why should I give what I made to 'Bob', who did not work at all? Thus everyone stopped working because they didn't see the point to working hard if th extra that they made was taken away given to everyone else. And that, my friend, is the nature of most things in the world... to find the easiest niche, take advantage of what's available with minimum expenditure of energy. Although humans are unique in their ability to rise above this sort of petty greed, it has to be a collective effort and I just don't believe that humanity is capable of that. A group will try, and as soon as one of them realizes they're on easy street, and someone else sees that, the whole thing goes crashing down.
Call me a pessimist, but this is human nature.. no?

True Communism has never been carried out. Communism gets a bad rep because so many naive people mistake it for Socialism. The Soviet Union labled itself as a Communist nation, but in fact, it was more like Socialism. Then theres Marxism, but thats a whole other story. True Communism works on paper, but not in real life.
