The most beautiful places on earth.

In my short life i have been lucky enough to visit alot of places. I also know that many of you have traveled alot and seem many different countries, citys ect. ect. So i've created this thing to insipre some of you to go see places others think are great. So anyone can post their top 5 places here. And i guess i'll start.

#1. Alaska(i've only seem the southern part of it but it was majestic)
#2. A small part of the trip from Madrid to Santader(Spain)after you cross Cantabrian mountains and get on your way to  the sea(It's incredible your in the mountians with little villages poping out from out of nowhere and then when ur in the middle of all tha green u see the sea(Atlantic ocean)
#3. The cities of Toledo(spain) and Cambridge(England)(Both have an incredible atmosphere to them.
#4. The citties of London and Segovia(Spain)(the only time i was in London it didn't rain, lol, and i got to see everything. Segovia is somewhat similar to Toledo only it is a bit more modern
#5. The Alps or the High Tatras(The high Tatras are the mountains here and i've heard some people call them "Pocket size Alps."

Well that's my top 5. I hope to see more from other memebers.

1: Chicago. (On one block, you have a complete different neighborhood than the next.. COuld be something new everyday. Great club's here, subarbs there, projects there)
2: TaiLand. (Many beutiful girls.. Cheap drink's. Never eat the ***** in tailand)

Well, that's all I have for now. I dont do sight seeing, so everything else is the same.

Cesme - Turkey
Great beaches, food was excellent, beer is very cheap and the people are friendly.

Olu deniz - Turkey
Now this place is beautiful.
A secluded lagoon surrounded on all sides by mountains truly breath taking.

Ring of Kerry - Ireland
The scenery is breath taking as is all of Ireland.
The people are friendly and the pubs are 2nd to none.

Rome - Italy
This city is bar none the best for site seeing.
There are ruins lying in the street!

Santorini - Greece
Best island I visited out of 14 or so, heh heh lost count after IOS!!

London - England
My favorite city for going out on the town, expensive but amazing!

Amsterdam - Netherlands
Another of my favorite cities for different reasons LOL!
The circular streets and frogger type roads will keep you guessing, heh heh, especially if you try the local products!

Nice - France
Unlike Paris the people here are friendly and the wine is relatively cheap.
The beaches are pebbles and have water but that's about it LOL!!

Perth - Australia
Last but not least the best place on earth.
If you ever come to Australia be sure to include Perth.
Best beaches in the world!

you guys forgot one place...

Mount Olympus (20 mins from my current location): when you are at 2800m above sea level and the only thing that is beneath you is the clouds, then you realize why the Ancients chose this place for the home of the gods... (and yes, the woods on the lower levels are great too)

The park in Amsterdam, with all the little lizards, covered in snow...

Paris at night...

The island of Lesvos in Greece.... so pretty..

Sighisoara, one of the most beautifull medieval cities in Europe

Paradise...(valley in the Bucegi Mountains)

Bucegi Mounatins, again

Bucegi Mounatins, yet again!

Vanturis Fall, 1700m, Bucegi Mountains( yes, again! )

A forest in the Carpathians

Sun and Snow in the Carpathians

Believe it or not, this is taken at the sea-side, it's a byzantine fortress(13th century)

A small house in the Apuseni Mountains

The two gurdians, in the Carpathians

The Romanian Sphinx, a natural rock formation...( i couldn't find a pic of the whole thing, but when i do, i'll edit the post, it's really something worth seeing, it's uncanny...)

This should be enough...
I have to say that i have been fortunate enough to see all the northern hemisphere of this planet(more than 3/4 of Europe, Canada in the Northern America, and Thailand in Asia), and i have yet to see the sights that i see here...
And 3 lucky members will get to see them live this summer...

Edit: Some of the pics above were hosted by geocities, but Lith was kind enough to help me and upload them to his site, so i could show you all what Romania is...Thx man, you're great!

You're probably right in saying that the most beautiful place on earth is where our loved ones are, but it is precisely when you're alone that you need some "consolations" like beautiful scenery, right?

Of all the places that I've seen (which are not many...), I'll say the 5 most worth-seeing are (I won't call it most beautiful, cause some of them aren't "beautiful" - visually):

Varanasi (India) and the Ganges.  Definately not one of the most "beatiful" places in the world, but I think they have everything there - Heaven and Hell, Life and Death, Joy and Sorrow, all in one.

A couple of the Greek islands (during the off-peak season ).  I love the mediterranean regions (though I'm yet to see the all of them) and I suppose the islands and, in fact, Greece itself is a real beauty.

A small village near Mt. Bromo (Indonesia).  Has a beautiful view of Mt. Bromo (an active volcano) from village, and a quite, peaceful and serene surroundings.

Kas (Turkey).  A small, relatively quite village by the mediterranean sea.  Same as the Greek islands, a great place to relax - during off-peak.

Hokkaido (Japan).  Beautiful country and parks; but I'm sure many other places in the world have something similar.

Ocracoke Island, NC (which I just got back from) is incredible.  Great beaches made all the better by the fact that they're relatively deserted.

The view from the top of Diamond Head in Honolulu, HI, the view  as you snorkle through Hanauma Bay on Oahu (well, once you get beyond the first reef which is basically dead since the tourists refuse to read the signs that say "DO NOT WALK ON THE REEF, THIS KILLS IT")

The Nepali Himalayas (I assume the other parts of the Himalayas are beautiful as well, but I've only seen the Nepali parts).

The Golden Triangle.  I know, it's actually one of the seediest areas in the world, but when you're on top of one of the mountains, at the edge of a Buddhist Monastery with absolutely incredible statues, looking down on it, it's absolutely breathtaking.

Allright Conn, let's show them what Romania means:

This is Peles castle in Sinaia town.

This is "Casa poporului" or transled from Romanian "The house of the people".

These are some bulding at the area of Peles castle in
Sinaia town

Traditional bulding at the zone of "Piatra neagra" over the mountain where Sinai town is.

This is a view of Carpati mountains at the area Bilea Lac.

This is Dunarea river which is the border between Romania and Bulgaria.

This is the seaside at the port in Constanza. It was so cold that the salt of the water didn't suspend the see to became iced!

I would rather not mention the islands of my homeland Greece as I might be biased. Anyway lots of you guys have already done so. My favourites (NOT necessarily in order of preference) :

The Kamtchatka peninsula in Siberia with the numerous volcanos
Iceland
The Andes in the Chile-Argentina border
Peru and Bolivia
New Zealand (Southern island)
The Norwegian fjords
The highlands in Scotland
The Tibetan plateau
The Easter island in the Pacific ocean
The Andaman archipelago (Western coast of Burma and Thailand)
Northwestern Rocky mountains (state of Montana and Washington - British Columbia, Canada)
The Blue Nile gorges in Ethiopia
The vicinity of lake Como Northern Italy
Queen Maud's land, Antarctica
Polynesia
Alaska
The Matterhorn, Switzerland
The Namimbian desert (Atlantic coastline)
The Kerguelen islands in the Indian ocean
Mount Caucasus, Georgia (ex-USSR)
Sri-Lanka
Cape Horn
Lapland, Finnland
Great Victoria Desert, Australia
Isle of Man and Outer Hebrides, England
Atlas Mountains, Morocco
Kunlun mountains, China

I haven't seen ALL of them. But seeing them all is MY goal of a lifetime. Any of you who might have seen even one-two of them can see what I mean. And if you don't, check out photos wherever you find them.

After all we live in a really beautiful planet. The list I made shows that every continent and, indeed every country has "beautiful places". But beauty lies in the moments we live and what we carry inside us don't you think? Then and only then is a beautiful landscape really appreciated.

I hope I have made some of you daydream...
