Shouldn't PC get a -qp just for that question? As to his previous point, it was a crude way to say it but it has some truth in it: the nations ARE often led by religious fanatics, and the US can often seem to be what he claims it to be.

And as to religous fanatics, that is unfair really. The people like Hussain and Khomani who use religion as their excuse do not really understand the religion. You could just as easily blame the Catholic Church for the actions done by mussolini because of religion. do not make the error of assuming that because someone claims to act for Muslims (or for that matter any religion) they actually are. They are just simply deluding themselves

STFU plz, you are clueless. Obviously you just choose to keep your eyes closed when suicide bombers blow up crapload of civilians in the name of religion. You obvioisly haven't seen Bin Laden videos in which he summons all moslems to start jihad against 'infidels'. Be honest now. At the moment Muslim relgion is the only one that is totally intolerant towards other religions. Get a clue plz. Religion is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing that is responsible for ther losses of countless lives.
Bottom line is: Muslim religion and its follwers(along with most of other relgions) is cancer and should be eliminated promptly and ruthlessly. Because I don't want to eventually end up in a building which some crazed religious moron will blow up because I am an infidel.

Threads about religion or politics should be forbidden... always someone get offended by another guy who either doesnt think before writing, is too stupid or is too angry to write something important but instead of writing decently only offend other people(this has already happened to me).

I don't have anything against any religions, but many people used the Islam and the catholic church to commit horrible crimes. There is nothing wrong with the religions but those fanatics are of the most dangerous kind.

Do you know a muslim? Perhaps you would like to look at some facts. The koran says killing is wrong just as much as the bible. There is more reasons for suicide bombers actions than simple go and kill yourself and you will go to heaven.
Do you know what an Jihad is? It is a PERSONAL struggle within every muslim against evil. No muslim should heed the call purely on the grounds that OBL or anyone else asked them, and most don't. It is first carried out in non-violent means if possible, which essentially means that bombing before peace talks means that they are neither going straight to heaven, nor particularly muslim.
These people are using religion as a excuse for their actions, and now people like you use their religion to taint all muslims with that title. You clearly have not met them all, so tell me how have you come to the conclusion that they are all mad raving lunatics?
I repeat what is done in the name of religion and what religion would want done in it's name are poles apart. Look at the crusades, the inquistion, the conversion of South and Central America does this strike you as tolerant?
And bottom line is with that attitude i wouldn't be suprised if someone did blow you up, learn a bit about the religion before you spout off about it please. If you think they are intolerant what must they think of you with your "all muslims are scum" speech?
Religion will always be accused of starting wars, the real cause is more accurately the people behind the religion. And I do not close my eyes to terrorism, I merely try to open some eyes to the actions of the often reactionary government of Israel. I hate the bombers as much as I hate the IRA and the UDF ("protestant" terror group) and OBL himself. But to ignore the actions of Sharon and the Israeli armed forces is ignorant and dangerous.

I am not muslim, I am catholic(Brazil is the country with most catholic people in the world), but I think this post is more offensive than all the Dear_Morons and Wesley ones together...

And btw in case anyone accuses me of it I am not a muslim, but an aetheist. I just believe in giving people a chance and reading as much about some religions as possible. Otherwise you might end up spouting off about it like PC

I think that when it comes to matters that you don't know enough about because you live in a different country, it's more dangerous to get involved: I don't know exactly what's happening in afganistan so I can't say if Bush is crazy or not. It just won't be a smart thing to say something like this about someone when you don't know enough of the facts.
It's hard enough to get all the truth even if you live in a certain country - but if you live outside of it you will never really get it.
And the reason is that the governments don't want you to get the truth - they want you to be on their side so they will show you just the right scenes on TV and put the right stuff in the newspaper to convince you. And any government, not just the US, usually does not care about what's the right thing to do but care about what will get them more money (oil in the middle east is the perfect example).
And now for something we DO agree about
PC, you have no idea what you are talking about when you flame those religions that you know nothing about. Religion is a great thing and those who use it for evil are the true villians.

Facts or not, hard to determine or not the world has to scrutinise events like what happens in the middle east. I'm sorry if it came across wrong, I wasn't trying to say there that he definately was done war crimes, merely that we must scrutinise both sides in any conflict and treat them both in a fair and balanced way. If (and I do think it could be possible) Israel has committed no genuine war-crimes in the last year or so then fine, but to not scrutinise the country would be doing the innocent palestinians an injustice they do not deserve.

Well, I guess you cut your own throat there, PH. Sorry mate but knowing military history doesn't mean much more than rattling off numbers by heart. That's fine if you like dressing up as a parrot and cackling for crackers but unless you learn the subtle and often treacherous political manoeuvres behind history's events you ought to refrain from debating David's words. Granted, the way facts are presented at school usually isn't very exciting and is more than often far from the truth but if you're hungry enough then spend some time in the history archives of a few universities and visit a couple of libraries. Search cum grano salis and you'll be very, very surprised not to mention quite shocked.
