Actually I cast Prayer instead of shield, stone skin, haste, bless and bloodlust

So much text when all you have to write is:
Stone skin OR Shield (whichever it was that was best, never had the energy to read all this ... NEED MANA!) is in general the best spell

Where is the sense behind that post? If you revive 1 year old threads, you should at least contribute something...

Impulsive writing; i'm sure you've done something similar. As for the date of the Thread, i never bother finding that out. I wanted to point out that it would have been convenient to be able to skip the math and walls of text and simply read something similar to: "And thus, we can assume that ***** is the spell with more benefits than *****" 
Nothing more, nothing less

Then we have 20 different mathematic theories to why, but the ones that doesn't care about that (people like me, since i don't want to analyse down every aspect of a game, less fun in my world) will be happy
Not racking down on the People writing in the thread before me tho, very impressive work to calculate. Only a shame that there are 10 different versions

for me the rule is simple
you face range : stone
you face melee shield
good are both

I like armorer best but shield is better IMHO

I read this thread carefully, and I still have no idea which is better. Stoneskin vs range I get, and I think it was established that lvl 20+ armorer special at expert gains nothing from shield, but it was also mentioned that if your def is too much higher than your enemies then more points don't matter... are there any simple guidelines to follow for which to cast first if you intend to use both?

If u read this thread carefully u would have realised one of the main success of this thread was to prove expert shield has an effect regardless of whether you are an armourer specialist or not.
