A much more creatures. Hmm maybe some sort of creature generator where you can create your own creatures. Of course you can not build up over certain limit. And you have to have appropriate skill.

Well I'd prefer it in HoMM4 and on (assuming that I'm not ignorant and none of them are already there), but even so I would like to see any or all of the following:

1) Ability to have some sort of happiness level calculated through my empire, through individual towns, and the overall impact one has on another. Then, there can be different ways to affect this, and depending on it, as a sort of factor similar to morale, that can affect the outcome of how much can be produced by your mines, and how many people show up for recruitment. Also this would include a population for each town, and the ability for them to automatically move to another part of your empire, or if they're displeased even into hostile territory. Then, you can set your own tax rate, in addition to a very reduced, base town collection fund. Then, if you managed to get your citizens unhappy, although it would anger them even more, then you could begin using force by hiring a few thugs and recruitment officers to draft people, or collect taxes. Of course then this leads to an set slightly random calculation so that depending on your happiness rating history and your current rate, maybe your citizens may rebel and form a mob. Then there is the possibility that if you don't have a decent garrison, the mob consists of about 70% of your total population, and while most will convert to peasant units, some will be other level creatures, depending on your population and your town type. That way your own people can capture your town from right underneath your own two feet.

2) You have a building called the armory and it hires it's own blacksmith/s. In addition to the (reduced) cost of recruiting units, you can instead create your own weapons. This would probably require an extra resource of iron or something. However, some weapons could require gems, crystal or something. Then, you can automatically assume that you will import your weapons from elsewhere if you decide to pay the full cost of recruiting a unit. However, in the long run, it may become more inexpensive to manufacture your own weapons. Then there could be 3 different types of blacksmiths, one that produces basic melee arms, one that makes ranged weapons, and another for magical type of weapons. Then, for an even higher price, you can build a "custom" specialized weapon for your own hero.

3) You can create your own artifacts, spells and creatures. Although each varies, the main concept is the same. For the artifact, you choose a pic you have that meets the size restrictions and all, then you can name your weapon or rename premade one. Then you can assign your own stats to it. For spells, you can simply alter the names of exisisting spells and think of creative names for them. Then maybe each could be assigned a different effect. Such as you can change the quicksand spell so that instead of slowing people down, they act more like a fire wall or something and inflict damage on people. Then with the creatures, you can do the same as with spells, or for each possible way a unit faces, you can specify pics for each according to the restrictions. Either that or build, or use a miniature modeling system sort of thing so that basically there are many precreated things you can set for the creation of a unit...sorta like the ones you find for games like Baldur's Gate, NWN and stuff.

4) A changeable team management system. Where there are different ways to restrict and change who a player's ally, enemy or neutral player is. It can be set so that when you begin a custom map that has the ability turned on, you can either unlock the teams or leave them unlocked so that the players can change them as they see fit. Then the third option is to adhere to restrictions set in the map for what can happen. There can be some scripts assigned so that during the game if one's triggerred, it can convert one of your allies into an enemy even if you didn't want to, or the other around. Or, it can simply be that some players are set to be able to be allies with certain other players, while others can only be neutral or enemies to the same ones.

5) Combined team battles. On each hero, you can set an automatic funcion that allows you to turn on "aid and/or ally", "aid yourself" or leave both unchecked. Depending on the terrain, if one of your armies is being attacked, if another of your own armies or an allied is say 1 or 2 movement spaces away, they can come to their rescue, and join the same battle either at the same time. The battlefield would be enlarged in order to fit them, but even if you want to set it so that people will try to find a nonhazardous way to get there to help, they can attempt to, but can only move one adventure map tile once per 3 battle turns or something. Then, perhaps an army that seemed destined to lose to come out winning afterall. In addition, maybe there can be a way to toggle between battle and adventure screen, or keep them both open. Then, while the battle is raging, you can just manually try to maneuver your other armies to the place...so in other words, stalling for time may actually become a good strategy. However, all of this movement would be dependant on how many movement spaces they have left from the last turn. So, if an allied army wants to help, the army must have some movement left from his turn. However, maybe the person who is being attacked is able to regain about 30% of their movement tiles of their own turn back already by the time they get to defend.
So then, the battlefield coule perhaps be huge, with tons of different teams with many heroes and units in one huge war. Then perhaps even the direction that the armies approach each other would influence their placement on the battlefield...either that, or each team is simply grouped in one area of the map with all friendly units.

Alright RMS--who'd you plaugeurize from this time?

In Heroes III, I think I would like to see all Heroes with animations that match their portraits. That way, Mutare appears as a Dragon next to her troops!

I know it's a weird wish, but hey, I have Heroes IV now....plus a multiplayer patch this week(hopefully).

All of the 100+ heroes look like themselves on the side of the battlefield, not just one generic image for each hero class (eg. you know when you fight crag Hack you will see a small figure of crag hack on the battlefield and not an anoymous barbarian).

I'd like to see heroes be able to fight like creatures. As they receive more experience they have more HP and have a larger base damage.

When your loses all it's HP, it doesn't die. You just can't use it for the rest of the battle. There should be some rules about this of course. Implosion first turn shouldn't take out your opponents hero. That's unfair. You could also have special abilities for each hero. Gain 1 spell point for each 100 damage your hero deals in combat. This would be called basic magic absorb. You could have an entire set of combat abilities in addition the secondary abilities.

There could be artifacts like wands that the hero can use to deal ranged damage in combat.

Ex: Wand of Lighting - Deal 50 damage for each spell power.

Ex: Dragon Sword - Deal 80 combat damage to target creature for each attack. Double all damage dealt to dragons. May only be used in melee.

Just take Heroes 3 and add those things.

You could also give each town a special ability that only that town receives.

Ex:
Tower heroes get basic scouting w/o using a secondary skill slot.

This may seem a bit much, but a lot of the strategy in heroes in what to build. Maybe you could add even more structures to build like even more upgrades to creatures and customizing resource silos (You can choose the resource). You should also be able to build an infinate amount of resource silos. Have other builds after the capitol. Ones that get 6000 gold or 8000 gold a turn. Building should never end.

My other thought is that you if you build the capitol or some other crucial building you can build more than one building a turn.
