What creatures do you choose in preserve
I like white tigers,unicorns and faerie dragons. Elves are very easy to destroy.

I agree! Griffins remind me haven, and pheonixes.. umm... i like fairy dragons better

I usually choose elves (shooters!!!), gryphons (much better than 'my little ponies') and faerie dragons (their offensive spells rock!). But of course it depends...

In the Preserve I normally choose:
Level 2 - Although the elves are great units I normally buy the white tigers. Why? Because their prerequistes cost less, have first strike and more HP, and you can always churn out fire elementals or waspworts in the POS. Elves, on the other hand, have rather low HP and their prerequisites cost way too much.
Level 3 - Griffins. What else? Unicorns are absolutely no match for these bird-lions. Unlimited retaliations, high HP (higher than unicorns!) and their flying ability make them super units. Cast snake strike on them and they are unstoppable.
Level 4 - Close. Normally I go for phoenixes because the Fairy Dragons require the Chaos annex. Also, they have higher HP than FD's. However, Fairy Dragons have offensive spell casting, and can be humiliating in even moderate numbers. So, tight choice here.

I choose tiger.....elves are too slow
Then griffin. unicorn looks stupid
Then......though faerie dragon are better against magic heroes or thunderbirds or spell casters or weaker units or very strong but low in number units, i choose phoenix sometimes like when against black dragon or when i have dragon strength.

Griffin needs Citadel.
I go for:
Uncicorn, Water Elemental. The remaining two depends on the situation.

my choices:
lvl 2: tigers most of the time, their cheaper and stronger, and have a steady growth. first strike keeps losses low for a walker. elves only for fun, with a ranger's guild pre-built or on large maps by summoning (though i'd rather have a huge army of tigers).
lvl 3: uni's all the way, on small maps you can't waste the money for a citadel, on larger maps you can't go build 2 citadels and have money left for lvl 4's. blind is also 1 of the best abilities (it's a lvl 4 spell!!!) and i like them to block the line of sight to my heroes.
lvl 4: usually phoenix, mostly because i choose uni's, i need that one fast flyer, also the prerequisites you were gonna build anyway. also phoenixes are by far the fastest creature in the game.
creature portal: either WE's or mantises. for WE to be effective, they need to be in big numbers, so i usually pick them in combination with summoning, a portal or a 2nd town. mantises are for either really rich, really poor or really fast maps. especcially on the fast maps their good, you'll probably be the only one with lvl 4's, binding also gives your druid the time to summon a decent amount of creatures. mantises also for the speed.

Wolves, Sprites, Elves, Griffins, Faerie Dragons...
wolves and sprites are standard so there is no matter of choice (even though the wolves are a bit disappointing... Elves are the only shooters (not to mention the main inhabitants of Preserve) Griffins are simply devastating with unlimited retaliation and last but not least, Faeries can bring the other guy's army down... of course in some occasions Phoenixes are good

Jap, I think that WE's are very effective even when you have only a few of them. They make all the difference againts neutral stacks.

I would choose elves if they didn't slow my otherwise VERY fast army. And the first strike rocks!

It's a tough choice with the Preserve town. But here are my choices.
Level 2: If I have time too build up I go for the Elves. If it is a quick map then I go for the White Tigers.
Level 3: Again if I have time my preference is Griffins. But in a pinch I will go with the Unicorns.
Level 4: Usually I choose Farie Dragons.
Portal of Summoning: I usually get the Water Elementals out of it unless I need more Physical strength. Then I go for the Mantis's.

that is what summoning is for, in usually summon some AE's send them to the middle, and i got plenty of time to summon an army. also few WE's slow the entire army down, it's not worth it. they're great in the end fight though, in a month 2 fight you'll have about 60 of them, and ice bolt is the best attack against lvl 4's, also they have an impressive melee attack compared to other spellcasters (about the same strength as tigers), which makes them more durable.

None: Unicorns that aren't black look like wimps and are cursed GOOD prince. They deserved that curse because they are good. Griffons belong in cursed Haven
