I just did a test..
1 Black Dragon beats 2 Bone Dragons AND 2 Faerie Dragons AT THE SAME TIME!!!
That concludes the discussion of which dragon is the mightiest.

I find it very crediable 
It is simple enough, black dragons stats are double of all other mobs, this given fact simply enough counter anything else...
I've did same test and 1 black dragon won. ONLY downfall for black dragon is that it is too expensive

Black Dragons rule. They are the strongest! Fairy Dragon can´t do anything to Black, ´cause the latter has spell immunity!!!

Black dragon rulez! 
I enjoy this creature. Looks good and his power, very good But in expansion Winds of war (WoW ) are megadragons. Super power, but mayby in equilibris they'll have dwelling But black dragons are the best

Black dragons easily beat Faere dragons through spell immunity, and bone dragons only advantage over black is growth rate.
In any case, I voted for bone dragons because of fear and sheer numbers.

I think blak dragons rules, and i killed 8 medusas with only 2 blak dragons and a few orks.

That's right. If your economic situation is stressed, you can choose to buy 1 Bone Dragon (however, the 3 vampires probably make a stronger force and cost less). If you don't have the money required for both your 4th lvl creature you can't get the Black Dragon, and waiting in town till you have the gold to buy it is not an advantage. Also, you get 3 Bone Dragons faster than you get 2 Black Dragons because of the weekly growth and cost, and the 3 Bonies easily beat 1 Blackie (actually all the 4th lvl creatures at an amount of 1½ weekly growth beats 1 Black Dragon (however, thunderbirds have the hardest time doing so, and Phoenixes are the only ones who does it with no losses).

I vote for Black Dragons, since they are immune to magic, have two tiles attack, and they can fly all across the map. a lot of hit points too...

Black Dragons  and again because they fly so slopy and their animation it is just awful... the fly like an fat imitation of dragon...
I would go for Fearie Dragon

I definetely love black dragons most.
They are immune to spells (ok, annoying when you would like to heal them ), they are strong both in attack and health.
I just love them, they beat everything in my mind  Give me one and I am happy

my favourite
Faerie Dragons are very good if they act fast before the enemy gets buffs on their creatures(only first turn actually ) like magic mirror or chaos ward and so on cos nature has hard time or no time destroying enemy buffs. This is why we love heroes IV, it's all about strategy, some are better in one case others in other.
If you compare fights between them, Dragon Golem is better than Bone and Black but low hp makes him the best 4 lvl target for the Faerie Dragon. Faerie Dragons also don't need offense to have a bigger attack and they ignore enemy defense. Needless to say on maps where hero development is minimal and enemies don't invest in offense, they will suffer
Bone Dragons pawn anything that's alive and doesn't have immune to fear
Blackies attack behind enemy targets and with misfortune have a wicked sick syenergie.
I like them all, this time I vote for faeries.

Black Dragons are just a hoss with their spell immunity. Any army that relies on magic to keep them safe will usually loose to big stack of Black Dragons
