HOMM1 map editor

Hi People!

I am looking for an old HOMM1 map editor. It is not included in the game I have. I found some pages on the net but download is not working. Would be great if someone could send me.

Thanks

HoMM1 with no editor? You must be playing a weird pirated version.

No, as far as I know, editor is only included in Win'95 version of HMM1. Try to find it somewhere. I think if you download the editor separately it shouldn't work at all.

Yes, I like to play my old Dos-Games. I have created a DosBootdisk for that purpose.
The game I bought was sold with a magazine in Germany, full version. Dos, but without editor.
There are many old games available for download but I haven't found HOMM1 yet. If anyone knows, please tell me.

Have fun, heroes!

I! I DO want to play Heroes 1!! As for me, that's a pity that Heroes 1 doesn't work on my Pentium 3 with WinXP.

It will work if you have a good old Dos/Win95/Win98 bootdisk and IF your harddisk is formatted in Fat32.  If it's formatted using NTFS then you have bad luck.  A unix bootdisk perhaps in that case...  But I've no experience with unix and I'm not sure if the game would still run.

Yeah, HoMM1 is a wonderful game! Low system requirements/age don't make a game crappy! and remember that if there was no HoMM1, there would be no HoMM2, 3 and 4 as well!!!

About the XP problem - many games don't work properly on XP. I suggest switching to 98.

I know... But that means formatting hard drive. I've done this many times and I know it's painful. I have so much cool on my disk!

As long as the cool stuff isn't on the C: drive, you don't have to worry. You just format the C: if you want to reinstall the system.

But it IS on C: drive!
I have a lot of txt files with interesting ideas for Heroes and lots of h3m (guess what's that ) of my own. Of course I can send them all to drive D: and then format c: and then reinstall Win'98 and then install Office and Delphi and LOTS of games and so on and so forth... Do you think I will do this only for playing Heroes I?
