A New HC Guide
Here is a How-To get along in HC Guide for all the new people- i will revive this post every month seing as HC gets
about 5 new members a month- sometimes more.
Image's
1. Find the picture you would like to use (in this case, we are gonna use the Heroescommunity Logo)
2. Left Click on the picture and go to Propertys, copy the URL (for the example it is
http://heroescommunity.com/images/heroescommunity.gif)
3. Go to where you are posting a topic and write (img)http://heroescommunity.com/images/heroescommunity.gif(/img)
But replace the ('s with ['s and the http://heroescommunity.com/images/heroescommunity.gif with your Image's URL
4. The Finished Result-

For bold, you write (b)(insert text here)(/b)
For Italic you write (i)(insert text here)(/i)
and for Underline write (u)(insert text here)(/u)
But be sure to replace the (insert text here) with your own texts, and the ('s with ['s LOL

For Website linking, find a webpage (for this example, we are uing Heroescommunity.com)
go to where you are posting Topic and write (url=http://heroescommunity.com)Heroescommunity(/url)
But Replace the ('s with ['s, the http://heroescommunity.com/images/heroescommunity.gif with your URL and the
Heroescommunity part with the title of the webpage

Avatar's
When you first sign up you are given a list of avatars, which is a picture to represent you. If you choose not to
take any of the given ones then you may make a request to Valeriy when you see him online he may take anywhere from
one day, to one month to upload your custom avatar

On the Who's Online section of the Index page, you will see little buttons to the left of their Screennames that say "IM"
Click on this to send a personal message on that person, also at the bottom of a post, you will see the same icon

QP's
i aint that big on this, but the QP's are the red stars under a persons Avatar- the more you have the better- you start
with two red stars- which is the equvilant of 0 QP' you can gain more by making Funny, important, or interesting posts,
you can lose them by Spamming, Flaming or causing trouble in HC- when you get 3 QP's you have 3 red stars- when you
get 6 QP's you have 4 red stars, when you get 9 QP's you have 5 red stars ( i think) WHen you have 4 red stars you are rid of
floodprotect, which i will explain later- and when you get 5 QP's you are able to rate posts. But losing QP's is bad
when you get -3 QP's you are down to one red star. When you get 9 -QP's you are down to zero red stars, and when you get 14
-QP's you are banned (i think)

Yellow Stars
these are worthless, just as a game mainly, you gain them by making posts...Any type of post.......

This is here to stop spammers from making a post every second, the more QP's you gain the lower it goes, the more QP's
you lose, the higher it goes.

Word Games, Series posts
Posts like Word Assoication game and Once Upon a Time are seires of threads, Word Assoication game is when you
take the previous word from the last poster and write a word that assoicates with it (eg. Boy= Girl) Boy and girl
are assoicated because they are opposites. the words can be related any way
And Once Upon a Time is a story, beginning with one poster the next poster carrieso n the story (eg. Once Upon a time......
(next poster) There was a girl (another poster) whose name was..) and this can go on and on.

What's a tosser?
Rychee (Rychenroller) was the one who introduced the Heroes world to the word 'tosser'. It's Aussie slang for moron or imbecile or idiot although those terms are 'nice' terms. We also have another word for tosser and that's wanker, or so I think.
I'm not sure if that word was bleeped out or not, lmao!
Anyways, thanks for your insight into HC. Most of it is pretty obvious, so why don't you write a more subjective view of HC for the new people? I'm sure your valid opinion would be welcome to lots of people, lol!

Having new joiners read the whole faq/rules section first before they can actually join would be a good idea imho.

A few clarifications/corrections:
Avatar's
=> Missing you need 51 posts before you can select a custom Avatar and each member is only entitled to choose one custom avatar.
QP's
=> Corrections:
3 QPs three red stars.
8 QPs four red stars.
15 QPs five red stars.
=> 1-7 +QPs doesn't affect your flood-protect. The flood protect is removed fully when you have 8 or more +QPs.
=> You need five red stars (+15 QP's to be able to rate topics.) The only member who has this is Shae Trielle (I could also use this for a short time before I took over the mod-stick for the Altar. Oldtimer and ThE_HyDrA are also fairly close to getting their fifth red.)
Board Topics
H4 altar of wishes- Wishes for H4 xpansions and patches
=> H5 wishes are also valid topics for the Heroes 4 Altar. So perhaps it will be renamed soon to the "Heroes Altar of Wishes"
E-mails
=> I'd advice not listing the Mod's E-mail here as these are subject to change. Instead ask people to obtain E-mails through the Mod's profiles. I kind of doubt that you will enter the Mod'd profiles to list the E-mails each time you update this topic.

I reckon you did a good job m8, but it's hard to see it lasting without stickies. Personally this would be good as a kind of introduction for new members thread, but if it's on page 10 because of not being a stickie then it is a waste. But like I said good work

Yes great idea. Would eliminate question threads (about hc) and the feeling that newbies need HC walkthroughs.
Two thing's required to make this work though.
1: A "you must read this before you get an account"
2: Motivated newbies to read it.
-- if all newbies were presented with a message box saying "Dont ask questions before reading FAQ you ^%&*^% noob!" it would show them where the proper reference is.
But it wouldn't comfort them =(

Am I to understand that I am the only one here who actually took the trouble to read through the FAQ/RULES before joining? I was actually around for a few months reading before I joined (just HAD to make a post in response to something ) and I took the time to read through them quite carefully. I agree that maybe the register button should lead to the registration THROUGH the FAQ/RULES section.
I like the idea of this thread though, and if you edit it every day you could keep it on the first page
added: I am not saying that I am better than anyone, I just happen to LIKE reading instructions and rules The idea of having registration link through FAQ is at least then people would know the answers to many of their questions were available

Hmm... AFAIR I did read certain parts of the FAQ, but it was a good couple of months (if not a year lol) after me registering . And I don't think I did something wrong, did I?
