When I first got HOMM4, I looked at all the campaign choices and I thought the Pirate's Daughter would be a good one to start because of the ships.  I like boating around and I had almost no clue of all this Order, Chaos, Nature, yadda stuff.

I didn't realize at that time that I chose the hardest one.  I had to restart that first map a few times and I couldn't remember having to do anything like that in HOMM3.  The Order campaign I'm on now is by far easier but then again, I know so much more about the game now that its not a fair comparison to the Chaos campaign.

death because it's not really an alignment, it's a bad mix between two factions leading to fewer units for both of them.

Not true!
Nature have very powerful magic in summoning random strong creatures...
Might is really poor online

imo the best faction in end game.

they have phoenix, summoning portal, and if you have an army with a tactician, a druid and a priest it's really strong.

but I also think it's the weakest in the beginning, in expert mode I just can't beat anything with the army I have day one, so I have to buy a thief.

my least favorite is the stronghold because of the lack of magic.

actually the imps can suck mana from the enemy hero and give it to your devils, so they can summon lots of ice demons.
(the best I managed was to summon about 100 demons with 20 devils, I was fighting few genies, and I had the grail (devils summons 50% more demons with the grail)
against a barbarian I think it could be a very efficient tactic since they have mana and can't use it (most of the time)

The one i like the least is dungeon because it's kind of too cold and the creatures have no big differences (see the elves, for example, you have the ranger, the fighter, the caster, the manuverable fairies), scouts, minos, sisters and witches do not differ much (mainly in appearance)

They have like so many ranged units that can do lots of damage to you in just a couple of turns.It's unbalanced,LOL!

Life isn't unbalanced - in fact, most towns aren't - because even though theres lots of ranged units they're easy to kill by spells or just flying up to them. Life doesn't have much HP, and anyway who would choose a creature build of two walkers/flyers and three shooters? Shooters die and you're left with two  walk/flyers, and one of them is lvl 1. Also life magic, unlike most other magic schools, doesn't have any damage spells. So that makes winning harder in any case

Oh yeah I like all towns because all of them ahve a good advantage over other towns:
CHAOS has lots of big damage spells - a mass bloodfrenzy spell and a couple of >1K damage spells and the battlefield is a cemetary XD

NATURE has a lot of blessing spells, mass fortune is a bit overpowered IMO, it literally halves all damage, and they also have more units due to summoning portal; water elementals, mantises (or manti? ) and shooting plants are all good. Also Summon Fairy Dragon/Pheonix is a bit overpowered as well,

ORDER has completely overpowered spells, Phantom illusion is really good as well as Berserk, once I won against a Stronghold army five times as large as mine with close to no losses thx to berserk

DEATH is DOOM. Strong units (well, not level 1 anyway but just throw those out) - Ghosts have low HP but great defence, vamps need no introductions and both lvl 7s are great tho i prefer ghost drags, and ALL of them are flyers. Not to mention the magic, which is totally insane: mass curse/weakness/sorrow are good and vampiric touch is excellent, turns a moderately good unit into killer machine. Then Hand of Death is incredible - in fact a good necromancer with good nature magic can go completely solo - just summon a couple of ice demons or ol' green slimes , then vampiric touch and hand of death the big lvl 4s. Assuming your necro doesn't die, of course - thats the only weakness.

LIFE is in fact one of the weakest towns - even though Pikemen have great HP, Monks are strong tough shooters and both champions and angels are great, a town needs a bit more than that to be good - like good spells, for instance. ...Mass Bless and Heavenly Armor, so what? Steal All Enchantments and Life just sux.

STRONGHOLD is in fact a great town - aside from the obvious mass of damage and HP of all its units, there is quite an easy way to fuse Might and Magic together - capture a town ASAP and buy a magic user. On large maps your magic user should have plenty time to get powerful spells - and you have a strong spellcaster and strong units: the ultimate army.

So as you can see about all towns have at least one or two advantages that give it the edge. (quite a long post saying what most people already know, but still... just to make my point.)

I've never ever played Knight/Castle/Life - I'm one of them 'why play fantasy and then just watch humans'-kinda guys. I don't even want them as enemies, cos they're just as boring and then, if I conquer them, I'm stuck with them again

My second dislike is Death - 1) (in all games) its terribly depressing 2) Kreegans + Undead? I don't think sooo... ;P

Also, my playing style doesn't fit with Might, but that doesn't mean I don't think they're great. I just like them more as enemies. I also like that HoMM IV Barbarians are TOTALLY without magic - now I love magic, but the HoMM III idea of having a "little" magic and then having B-quality magic heroes... well, if they don't have it big time, then it's better they don't have it at all!

well yeah I don't like Death much eaither, I mean I play with it but I don't like the Inferno/Necro mix. I only play with the Death monsters anyway, because they're the best in any case (Ghosts, vampires, drags)

Life - boring creatures. I played the campaign for too long and I got sick of it. So, I hate Life (castle).
What I don`t like about Death is that there is almost no point in taking Demonic creatures, except maybe Devils.

Sorry, I wasn`t clear enough. You get Imps along with skellies so you don`t have to choose only one. Cerberus and Venom Spawn are useless creatures in my eyes. Sure, Spawns are extremely powerful, but they can`t keep up with necro raising an army of Vampires and never visiting the town.
And as I said, Devils and Dragons are a tough choice.
