The events in Moscow !!!!
That's terrible ! Not again...
I think, that the events are terrible, how many times we will sufer from the various terrorists ? One woman have allready killed !!! That shows that we are not safe even going to publical places ?!?! *Sorry, I'm in shock, so I can't think very senceible*
Hey, what are your opinion about this ?

Not meaning to diminish the terrible tragedy of 9/11, the fact of the matter is that while 2,800 or so people died in the World Trade Center, nearly 50,000 people lost their lives last year in automobile accidents. Terrorism is bad, yes, but heart desease, cancer, and automobiles are worse. Point being--let's not get all worked up about it and sacrifice our freedoms just because a few lunatics got our attention with a dramatic jesture.
In fact, that's what terrorism really is, a weak person's only way to get attention from a strong person. Nobody can beat the US military, for example, so nations don't declare war on us. People who resent our power use weak tactics (terrorism) to get our attention. Of course, the best thing to do when a child throws a temper-tantrum is to ignore him/her, and I think that should be our response to terrorism. Ignore it. It won't go away, perhaps, but it will diminish if those who would use it against us see that it doesn't even get our attention.

It´s on the same moral grounds with Russia´s military actions in Chechenya.
And yes, it can be defeated - but only with a more thoughtful and intelligent approach than panzer war against civilists.

And what are the methods in your opinion? I think that Israel has some methods that work quite well to prevent terrorism (they are able to prevent almost 8/10 suicide bombers by alert police force and publuic, and techniques developed by many years of experience). I don't think this solves the problem, but it sure helps. What we need here is some sort of solution that would help us catch the terrorists and their leaders, bring those responsible to a fair trial (there are many people who are almost for sure responsible for terrorism but are not caught because there is not enough proof), and eliminate the cause the terrorists have to fight.
If the problem is the Islam, maybe we need a strong leader for the Muslim countries (he must be muslim himself of course), so that their life will improve. That can be achieved if we manage to make their elections fair ("vote for me or die" is not enough). I'm sure that a good leader and government will eliminate their need to fight by improving the countries.

Yes mine is just simply a sig of my favourite character from a good film. But I do advocate millitary options, as long as they result in a better solution than peacfull means, which is rarely the case......

Wolfman merely pointed out that if you took say all of the 21 million russians who died in WWII and they lived, they each have 2 children, 42 million more by say 1950. By 1980 say another 84 million and so on. Transport this to a gobal scale and frankly there is no room left in the world, unemployment rises and more people starve. It's not nice, but it's a fact of life (well technically death but what the hell).
