Time Limit in HOMM3??
I have a question that has been bothering me for a bit.
There was one map that I really enjoy playing, however I am never able to finish it because it takes so much game time to finish it.
Generally, around the 15 - 18 month mark the game goes into freeze. Is there a limit as to how much time can pass in game time before the game seizes? I would really like to play this game out to completion, but as it stands now, I end up approximately the same place every time and can't get any further.

you can go to map editor on that single scenario & go to options & look for map specifications (hope I said it right lol)
& go through the I think loss conditions & change it so there will not be any time limit

Time LImit on Game
That's just the problem. The time isn't a special loss condition.
It's a pretty straightforward mat, conquer the world, defeat all your opponents, etc. It's just that it's so big and there is so much backtracking that it takes this side of forever.

The maximum time limit is 12 months, if I'm not mistaken... however, there are a few tricks to overcome this problem  One particular map I happen to know very well has an 18-month time limit, obtained by giving an unreachable AI hero access (via dimension door) to the winning artifact. As for the game crashing, well... that's a risk with extremely complex XL maps

J H C***st! A 15-18 month game, that is just way way too long, i assume you mean single player.
If so, STOP, come play MP you willl have much more fun and 80% of your games will be done before month 3 ends, sooner on most Made maps.

It has happened with me too. I dunno what it is. But sometime i played it for 700 days, so it canīt be a limit.

Could You send me the map? If it takes more, then 18 months to win, then it's interesting for me..
I know that there's a limitation of 672 days (24 month, two years) for timed events, and a spell bonus limitation in battle, max. 1000 rounds.
Don't know about playover time limitation..
