faerie dragons or phoenix?

Faerie dragons or phoenix?

Without doubt, this question is also between might n magic.

Faerie dragons have a bulit-in magic mirror which is more useful than blackies' magic immunity. They have a range of spells which can easily put an army out of commision(lightning, devastating effect, confusion losing a turn and fireball, group attack). Their defence and hitpoints r quite strong as compared to the other lvl 4s.

Phoenix on the other hand, have a built in russerection ability which allow them to attack another time. Their attack, defence and hit points are very strong and their immunity aggainst fire spells and them absorbing half damage from fire attacks make them very lasting on the battlefield.

So, wad ur think?

I used to prefer the faerie dragons, cause I like defensive tactics based on ranged units, but now I usually choose the phoenixes. They're very durable and their fire attack makes them twice as dangerous (if properly used). Fire resistance and resurrection ability are also pretty nice extras and their "barbecue chicken" looks are cool In my view - they're a smaller, much more economical and almost equally useful in battle version of the black dragons.

I don't think it's a question between might or magic. It only matter with which enemy you are facing.

For me, I will only choose Phoenix when I am facing Chaos (technically Black Dragon) and choose Faries otherwise.

Faries has magic mirror which work very well with unintentional spells like Thunderbird's lighting strike! He also has a very good set of magic - all of them useful against any type enemy (few 4 lvl or a large number of low lvl).

Almost every one will favour Faries with Phoenix!

Yeah sure....19 attack, 21 defence, 200 hit points. Pretty strong, pretty strong...can kill a Ghost Dragon that's for sure. 20 Fearie Dragons make 10 000 damage with an ice bolt(and meteror shower is their stongest spel). I'm not a magic lover and I don't like Fearie Dragons but they are stronger than Pheonixies in any situation.

If you have the lvl 5 nature spell Dragons strenght, Pheonix is the far better choise.

They rule with that spell.

1 faerie dragon is cool, for it can be quite confusing to enemies. but when the number is 10 or so, phoenix is way better.

the problem with f***** dragons is that they lack the physics. which means theres no point in dragonstrengthing (read: effectively doubling at the cost of just 1 spellcast) them. and they dont retaliate much. casting lightning is alright, but in grand battles everything is still decided more or less physically. and thats where a phoenix can be dragonstrengthed, blessed, bloodlusted, if lucky then even vampirized, while there is no way to magically increase the damage done by f.dragons' bolt.

I dunno if it is a glitch or something but if the enemy has bad luck and the fairy dragons cast lightning, it shows that bad luck symbol and, probably, does more damage which is something I haven't seen with any other magic spells, even cast by creatures.

I choose Faerie Dragons most of the time. When you have accumulated lots of Faerie Dragons, they easily do over 1000 damages in Lightning spells and Fireball and Fire Ring spells. You can let the Faerie Dragons sit back and fry the enemy ranged units and spell casters while Phoenixes may not be able to reach the desired targets quickly. Also, when you place Faerie Dragons in the back row, it is almost impossible to sustain casualties. Phoenixes are great melee combatants and they however, sustain damage and it is much more possible to lose one or two Phoenixes in a battle.

On a lighter note, Faerie Dragons are better since they have abandoned their mischevious nature in Heroes III and have became great protectors of Nature in Heroes IV.

Phoenixes on the other hand, look too much like burning turkeys.

Faerie Dragons and Phoenixes, it is all up to you.

I think there is not only 1 chose between faerie and phoenix. Naturally if u play against chaos who has blacks which is immune to faeries spells i choose phoenix and almost in all other situations i take faerie cause they are harder to destroy than phoenix and their lightning attack is very good. Very annoying creature(faerie) if u are against it. In fact in many situations it is the best craeture in game. I dont say phoenix is bad but unless ur opponent is chaos take faerie dragon!!

Nature is my second favorite town and my strategy is to have so many faerie dragons with me as I can. It is similar to my strategy with chaos (nightmares). Cast confusion on every possible strong target or decimate the weak ones with lightning and fireball. My demonologist/druid is preparing summoning spells with dragon strength. The only creatures I am taking with me are water elementals (another good spellcaster), waspworth (really good shooter) or mantis/black dragon/other big creature with good movement).
