Yeah american football sucks.
European football (I refuseto call it soccer) rocks.
But i agree: cm2 WAS the best. I presume you are talking about the 97/98 season?
But the best turn based STRATEGY game of all time, was SMAC. After that comes Civ2. Civ3 sucked big time.

Try Civilization 2 Test of time.
as well as the original version of civ 2 it includes an original extended version which allows you to continue colonising once you reach Alpha centuria and develop futuristic technologies which you use to seriosly whop your enemies on earth.
It also includes a science fiction version on which you can build similtaniosly on four planets and a fantasy version on which you build in four realms on one world (skyworld, undersea world, surface world and underground world )
The civ series is totally unlike Homm 3 and all such games for those who want to try something new, some can be played over the net and some not.

I agree i am still right now playing cm2 97/98 in between Homm 3 and still like it just as much although i am finding that cm3 gets better the more i play
P.S. do you know about re-hiring international players as youngsters after they retire. certain stats never change when they come back into the programme under a new name.

I'd like to say that I played a lot of strategy games (Heroes II, III, Worms, Civilizations I, II and others) and I loved them all. TBS is the real strategy.
Real time strategy is more about tactics and macro-micro skillz.
