In Heroes III, I think the Rough and Snow terrain background music was amasing But the best of them all in my opinion are the ones in Heroes V, Markal, Godrics, Zehir (the second one) and Biara-as-Isabel. I even use to sit and listen to them while I do other stuff at the computer.

Hello Hell_Wizard! Can you send me this town theme, if you still have it in your PC and if you have the time? I've been longing to hear it for quite some months now. Thanks!

I can't believe Combat 1 is in the bottom of your list. IMO, it should have been on the top while Combat 3 gets the bottom spot. Combat 1 is simply amazing!

Well, i'm not Hell_Wizard, but for me, I will always choose youtube for the first preview of the song. And right after, i'll download it somewhere, if I didn't have it..

Old and old, dude sorry man..
But if I see some posting questions, and nobody have answered him/her I will always answered back to him/her.
I knew it - in an another way - you will post him/her a message, but I forgot it.
Anyways, if it's old, I always think it's from around 20 pages back soon.

1) Only if it's a relevance comment back..

2) I'll never ever resurrect an old thread like that age . That will be too overwhelming. May it be like 5 pages old (like that thread was).

But please HW! Let it stop this discussion.
You've your own opinion of time to get it be quoted back and saying like it was a stupid idea to resurrect an 'old' thread again.
And I (for you) will accept this, don't you agree?

No problem

I have ressurected an 5-yeared thread, since then I am preventing the others from doing such a mistake

I'm pretty sure it's a French Horn.

In my opinion it goes like this.

TOWNS:
1) Fortress Theme (but only the epic 45-second stretch, after that it becomes weak. Still, that makes it my favorite song.)
2) Inferno Theme- tremelo throughout is awesome, great song.
3) Stronghold- just love this one, the soaring, epic tune is thrilling.
4) Dungeon- great end and really evokes the feeling of the town.
5) Necropolis-Brilliantly done, eerie and chilling. IMO all the top 5 are pretty much neck-and-neck for best theme.
6) Rampart-Is alright, could be better
7) Castle- A bit stagnant but good song
8) Tower-Good music, but no real climax or excitement Represents the town well, but it's just meh.
9) Conflux-As said below, just boring.

IMO Tower theme just is not good.

Combat Themes:
1) Combat Four
2) Combat One (tied with Combat Four IMO)
3) Combat Two
4) Combat Three

EDIT: Revised and bumped Conflux to the bottom, after comparing it to Tower/Castle in more depth, it just is meh.

Also, in miscellaneous music, EVIL THEME is very good as are the Campaign Themes, but Evil Theme especially.

1.) Necropolis (picked it over fortress, b/c the entire thing is just awesome... and the theme changes a lot, not much repetition)

2.) Fortress (a great theme, the arpeggios are fun to play on keyboard/guitar)

3.) Stronghold (filled with pride)

The above 3 clearly have the best melodies in my opinion.

4.) Inferno (sounds just right for an inferno town, it is a good theme)

5.) Dungeon (powerful, reminds you of the underground, not the best but it is good)

6.) Rampart (very good melody, I just hate rampart)

7.) Tower (fits the town well, I think it's boring though)

8.) Castle (generic but it does fit the down well)

9.) Conflux (fits the town well, just find it boring)

In conclusion, I think all themes fit their castle well.  However, I find Tower, Conflux, and Castle by far the most boring to listen too.  They don't get you pumped up.

Why wouldn't he?

You can play an arpeggio on a violin, why not a guitar?

Yes, but it's kind of hard to play arpeggios by yourself if you need a woodwind orchestra for it.

There are arpegios only on one place and tey last 4-5 seconds, so there is no sence in playing them at all.
