waht do u mean????? day 1 rush are cheap JESUS. What is cheać is sitting in castle knowing u are secure there. If i stand outside castle day 7 i always asks wheter he wanna play a open and fair fight or i need to get my troops just to be able to have a small chance vrs the coward hiding in the castle!!!

Yes there are some a few maps in which u need to agee on no day 1 rushes as red E vrs W the best example. But really theres always a way to prevent red the  advantage of getting reinforcements its all up to the player making sure it doesnt happen.

To the question wheter its cheap or not. Id say its just part of the as hit and run, armageddon, implosion, recanters etc.

This rule is needed.

NO never never never never quitting

Today this guy quit game at the last moment.
(I was to attack his main hero)

He said "Oh i got a go now" and disconnected
during my turn while I collect and hire all my units.

Damn it. he said no defeat yet (his record 16 win/0 lost)

Maybe in this way, he will get no defeat till he get
hundreds of victory.

Well, sounds to me its just a matter of writing a post to HC and then he will have a record of 16 wins 1 loss

Actually thats one of the few topics HC is absolutely clear on, if ur only a few days away from finishing the game, disconnecting might count for a loss. At least thats how I remember it

To bad I cant get past the firewall on this comp, no Heroes play for me untill the 29.

No RuleZ

Red day 1 rush?   If blue let`s red have a link composed of all his heroes all the way to his red castle and if blue let red position his main hero in reach of his blue castle on day 7, then blue deserves to die.     Nothing cheap there.  Blue is being lousy, unimaginative, so better luck next game.  Move on.

I have thoought about it for some time now and i think I'll agree with Frank. If you cannot come up with anything to stop day 1 rush then you deserve to lose.

I am sure there will be instances where it is not possible to do anything about it. I have played a game like that. And i don't really mean my opponent attacking with day 1 troops, it would not have mattered at all, the game was in 2-3 month on Large Random. I started as rampart and i was using a mix of stonghold, rampart and dungeon units. My opponent was Necro with Thant and extarnal Vamps.

I did what anyone else would do, i rushed, but i could not find a way to reach him. I have really expanded fast and covered all two way liths, but for some reason i was afraid to test the one way ones (big mistake) by the time i got to it he had them blocked. When he finally dropped on me i had nothing against his legions of skels especially since i agreed to no H&R after we started since i played a lot of games that way and i felt it wouldnt be fair to use it now just because he has necro.

So my only option now was to outmanouver him, and here is where the color choice decided the game.  I have used up all my units in taking 2 topias ( i had 4 wyverns left after i escaped the 2nd one ) but the tome of air was my reward. I was roaming my and his side avoiding his main and slowly building up my army.  But since the map has featured tons of two-way liths he was able to hit 2-3 of my build up towns on day 1 and buy up the army, and i was only able to get to 1 or 2 of them. And eventually i agreed to just duke it out since being blue i had no chance of rebuilding and i would rather lose then accept his surrender because he is getting frustrated because he cannot catch me.

I know that situations like that will be rare, and because of that i would rather do away with red rush day 1 rule altoghether then have it in place and deal with all sorts of complaints arising from it.

dim door games

I`ve been in your situation Maxym.  Almost only in random maps now that map designers have removed dim door from virtually all the maps.

Usually the one with dim door will win the game if his opponent makes no effort to get dim door for himself.  In your situation with all the liths, if he had access to most of the castles contained on your map and that you weren`t playing 2 min per turn, only then would I see the red first playing each turn becomming a problem.  What the dim door guy need to do is to take as much of all the available castles during the week.  No need to defend them.  Just take them all.  That usually get the none dim door guy to select a few castles to defend.  So there you are with a greater gold income, just build every castles of the map, since you will hold more castles each week you`ll eventually have more troops...It`s a lot faster to dim door 4 times then to link your troops all around the map in one day...  But your situation where the none dim door guy have access to all castles never happened to me.  I`ve been in the shoes of the one without dim door and already that it is hard enough to survive to an opponent with dim door what usually happens is that time/turn becomes your enemy.  Even 4 minutes/turn becomes a strangler.

Which brings me to HOMM4.   I`d like to see a changeable time/turn limit as the game goes along.  At any given point of the game if the opponent or yourself needs more time, if both players agree than the time/turn could be changed.   It`s a pitty when the only thing keeping you from giving a good fight is time/turn.

BTW, to when will I be allowed a revenge on 7 lakes Maxym?
