Contacting the Honor Council

Lately i keep receiving mails with which we can't work at all. so i think it might be a good idea to post some "do" and "donots"  to make it easier for the council to work on cases and also to make the management of cases faster and this way players get faster replys/solutions

- allways write your mails in english: i received a few mails in polish, russian and german and some others. that only costs us hell of a time.

- please ALLWAYS give us your handle and the handle of your opponent when contacting the honor council. sometimes players only give zone handles or call their opponents "him" . needed is the toh handle

- IF you have save games send em immdiatly in your first mail. just costs the council and the player time when we have to reply "please send us the save games"

- don't insult your opponnts in mails to honor council !!!!

- please describe the situation in details. descriptions like "he was unfair" don't really say much at all - and dont help to find a quick solution.

If somebody saves each day do you still want all the saves from that game or just the ones where the "offended party" noticed something they are not happy with?

all depends on the specific situaion .

immagine you play a game and in monst 8 week 3 day 1 you notice something strange. then i would not recommend sending a 120 MB zip to the HC. might take a while to work on this

the most important saves are allways the day 1 save, the last day save and the saves a couple of days before and after "the important situation" .

Is it worth to contact the Honor Council in case, if my opponent dropped in the final stage of final battle?

In this case only possible prove file could be save just before this fight, but if fight is a close one, this file won't prove anything.

Tnx, Hexa

Only in this case i'm not so much interested in getting points as more simply to prevent that other players will play with this "dropper" and get the same negative emotions.

If a crash/disconnection occurs, the game must be played from the most accurately saved game (autosave usually) with movements being repeated the same as they were before the crash. If a crash is during a battle then the same applies for movements until a different bonus on a character alters the game significantly. From that point the game is considered new for the battle and the rest of the game is to be carried out as normal play.

A important note i have to add. yesterday i received a mail of a player complaining why i dunt answer his mail about a TOH dispute.

i was very suprised casue i allways work with and archive all received mails.

After a but research i found out that the virus protection programm i have installed blocks emails which got no  Subject line.

so please Don't leave the Subject line empty if you contact the honor council - specially not with attached files

Motor.  I was just wandering. I know the honour council does not endorse rule making, but if somebody makes a rule at start of game like no dd or fly and then uses it against you how is this viewed? Not that i had this happen, but i would just like to know.

Proly saving every day and then send saves which are closest to the moment that happened. I think it's then easily detectable to see if there was use of these spells...

And one thing I wandered...what if there was some rules but one player disregards them and later say there were no such rules? How do you figure that out? It's one player word against other's. Screenshot of a chat where rules were made?

Ugh, so much work for a game...

uhm....

nebuka, it has been clearly said : the game was beeing concepted with NO rules, so the rules players discuss are only to personalize theyr game, but that does not "count" if due those rules there are disputes at the end of the game or while the game is goin` on

99,9% of all player made rule disputes are because of misunderstandings, misinterpretations and such things. there is no way the honor council will rule or decide in such cases cause TOH = NO RULES.

of course if we find out that a players is abuzing this "no rules" mantra to get an advantage by making rules just with the intention to brake em an get an easy win this players can be sure they will receive a "friendly" reminder.

but like i said - 99,9% are just about misinterpretation and misunderstandings like:
- different hit and run definitions (my favourite )
- different definition of restart rules
- different definitions about "no putyourestrictioninhere"

Hey, about that hit and run, can you tell me an oficial definition or, if there is no one, the most known definition among players. Cause i really encoutered dificulties with that rule.
And a sad thing-noone playes by toh rule=no rules; everyone wants 2 add something.
