I added recently catapult change into creature 304 (from my mod with AMethyst) but it doesn't work (either game locks at BG:0 or crashes in weird way when trying to attack with catapult)

there may be also other bugs, could you help me?

EDIT: ok problem was wrong creature def, now it works

Hello Salamandre

I m a little bit confused cause i just realize my system (which i m trying to balance and have fun as much as possible) need probably a bit more work from your part.

I added dispell to the air school of magic and what you re supposed to do : switch the spell to single target or all. Here s the problem, Dispell now belongs to the water school and air school and You have to modify the skill hero and his mastery.

So please let me know if you could make this change for both school.

Salamandre I was thinking in something easier To make a "kill spell" that will replace implosion.

eg: "hand of death" - kills the entire unit, but drains 200 spell points. (Just like in H4).

Can this be done by editing the SPTRAITS.TXT?

also

Is it possible replace an existing spell with creatures ability?

eg: replace Hypnotize with Age (Ghost Dragon ability).

recently somewhere in this forum majaczek posted a script to replace adventure spells with custom spells. you could try to modifie it.
In SPTRAITS.TXT you could change spell damage and spell points and set to 200, this would work and probaly easiest way.
Another way would be to use a script and use !!BM x:K#; Strike a monster with #damage points  and than add some animation when casting implosion.

I have like 3-4 years blackout on H3 gaming and community (big pause to this game) and i'm up to date with the latest news, didn't know about that 3.59.

Is there a way to make a town dwelling sell only one creature even if the upgraded building is built?

For intsance, Altar of Fire sells Fire El and Upg. Altar of Fire sells Energy El. When you click on the upgraded version you see both these creatures for sale (Fire and Energy).

My question is, can it be done so that there's only Fire El to buy (even if the building is upgraded)?

I know I could set the Fire El to be recruitable with both buildings using this command.

But then I would get the same creature twice in the pop up window and it doesn't look very nice.

Can it be done so that the window shows the Fire El once (even if the upgraded building is built)?

Hi! I installed latest version of HoMM 3: High Resolution Project and the game can not start. It shows me this error:

I want the building to upgrade but not to have another creature.

Nah, I don't want it like that, because the building would still be shown in the Town Hall but unable to be built (grey button) which I don't like.

Now, If there was a way to disable a building altogether, that would be really nice and useful. But I don't think that something like that exists, since I think the number of buildings in each town are fixed and not open to modifications.

I think you wanna make a creature window like was in H3 ROE(Only upgraded unit shows in recruit window).

I know that it's a the easiest way to do it but i want it do via ERM because i want to take effect one one map not all.

You obviously don't yet understand how Era works. You can change whatever you want, erm or text files, build your mod and as long as this mod is activated, changes will apply. When play another map, disable the mod, effect is gone. Is no longer as WoG 3.58 where all changes had to be placed in game Data folder.

or put it in your map under timed event.
Its just the basic concept. its up to you to change spell name or put more text to it via ERM. have fun :)

RerryR, you can remove smilies by using the red cross icon -disable smilies. Also I would limit this script to human, because AI doesn't react to cancel action, he will try again and again to cast the spell. A little typo too with resetting flag in the end (!!IF:V209/0), is funny how a such small typo will change all spells in dealing thousand of damage. :)

Don't take me wrong Salamandre i know exactly how Era works. The problem are my "customers", not technical problem. Belive me, people in the Acid Cave (polish site) are complaining that, my "episodes mods are way to heavy" (max 2-5 mb max LOL). ERM weights nothing. That's way i choose ERM instead of making a mod with edited SPTRAITS.TXT.

After the spell is cast, everything come back to normal.
