ok im new to erm script so...
bout that new editor i cant install it somehow. i got it in my 3DO file but i cant install it.
second thing i dont know how do i make portraits of people. and also when an event kills a hero and makes a new one. How do i make a brand new name, abilities, portrait and starting creatures and primary stats.
Third thing the script for fishing well has errors.
fourth thing how to add sounds to map.
fifth thing how to make an eventful and renamed artifact like: u got armaggedons blade(i could name it as immortals blade) and bring it to a seer and then remove an object/monster in the area.
sixth thing is when i visit a monster/hero. u wont attack but it sets u a quest that go to a certain spot and when u got there then it disappers.
i cant use erm SM to make a moster have a 1kk hp or something. how to make a moster to be a ultimate strong.
sry for lots of questions but i do know how to rename a monster, make a bridge, add/delete object and other nooby things.
But also if u think i asked such a nooby questions please dont comment on it cuz im pretty much absolute crap at erm scripting.
thx

1) To make portraits you have to import/modify new.
ZVSE
!?PI;
[Set custom portraits]
!!HE#:L1^RomeoS2.pcx^; ** small portrait for Hero ID=#
!!HE#:L2^Romeo_BL.pcx^; **large
The pcx must be in DATA folder and named as in the script. To find the right pixels numbers for a portrait, just check existent ones or DOWNLOAD new.
2)To kill an hero:
!!HE#:K; #=ID of the hero
Then to bring one on the map:
!!HE#:Px/y/z; x/y/z=coordinates
3)To add sound to an action:
!!VRz10:S^battle1.wav^;
!!SN:Pz10; Play it
The battle1.wav or whatever you name the custom wav you need must be in data folder
4)To rename an artefact
!#VRz150:S^Artefact new name^;
!#VRz151:S^{Artefact new name}
followed by
(long description)^;
!#UN:A#/9/150 A#/10/151; #=Artefact ID
5) To boost a monster
!!MA:P#/1000; The #ID monster will have 1000 HP
For other issues you ask I need coordinates as well as explained walkthrough. 2,3 and 5th steps must be triggered by an event or an object. 1st and 4th will be enable when map loads.

Hero class name
Hi,
in the very first SoD campaign Gem has a class title other than "Druid". As far as i remember a title borrowed from H2. So at least it seems to be possible to change the class title. Gems class title is later in the campaign reset to "Druid".
So my question is: Is it possible with erm to do that? To change any heroes class title to something else?

I don't know any way to do that through ERM but surely through WoG engine. The file which contains Heros class is in H3sprite.lod, it may be HCTRAITS.txt? Just edit it with a text editor and reinstall it via .wog file or place in DATA. Never tested but I already replaced in this way players colors names in my last map. (Tan was renamed to Gerousia council)

Thanks for answering, but that was not what is intended. I thought of kind of hero development, comparable to H4, which then should reflect development in class name. So name changes need to be dynamically.
And it is somewhat possible, definitely. In the first SoD campaign, Gem has the class title "Sorceress" (or something similar), while her companion hero has the class name "Druid". So both class titles are active at the same time. Working that out would make a very good hero extended class development.
But it's possible that it is impossible with erm

I wondered about that, too, Sigfried, while playing the campaign. How is it possible to do that on a SoD map but not in a WoG map?...
@EDIT, that's what i asked here.

Found it. Yes, that's mainly the same question. So it seems impossible for now.

I read you well but seems you changed mind. Now, for your next problem I have no clue what about you are speaking, as I never played HoMM4. Of course, any hero development can be controlled as you wish through ERM, is that what interested you?
Changing the class title during the game is not possible afaik. Or at least I did not find a way, and never saw it elsewhere. Converting the value of the class to a string will give a number, not text.

How about changing the adventure def of a hero for a single scenario. Like making a knight look like a beastmaster? With ERM.

Did I fake something ever? Btw, the flag position is pixel hardcoded, so there is no way to move it upper or down, unless we redo all the defs.

Yes and no. This would indeed be the main part. But representing this development with a proper class title would be the other part.

Unfortunately. I just had the idea, since it is possible in SoD, there might be some way to do that in WoG with erm.
I thought of something similar to setting a heroes name or bio or portrait or the like. But just this heroes class title.

Well, if you change the adventure def of a Beastmaster to Knights def, and change the portrait of the hero to a knight's portrait, then the 'Knight' would be a beastmaster.

Many things can be done to simulate the progress of a character through the game: changing the sprite, the bio, the face, the skills. Only one seems to be prohibited, the class, but the others are enough from now to create an interesting story still.

You forget the most important thing: they had the source code.

I hope that in WoG 3.59 it would be possible to change the class.. With the best thing of all, the ERM.

I know what you mean, but Sorceress is a NWC campaign variable which they programmed into the SoD game's general text. It's called up during that campaign only, and can't, sadly, be replicated by us.
NWC used other such special flags we can't normally access, such as the double loss condition (i.e. Catherine and Lord Haart must both survive). They can be reproduced but not duplicated with ERM.
The only easy way to change a class name is to edit its string in the game's text files, though that will make the change applicable to all heroes of that type. You could try to contact Gus Smedstad about the whole thing but after almost a decade it'd be lucky if he even remembers

Yes, the only possible way I think would be:
1) Rename x class to Sorceress editing txt files
2) Prohibit x class from appearing on the map
3) Play the game and when you wish to promote Gem, change its class to x.
