Ok, i'll speak about all towns, assuming i play at expert (160%) diff. on random maps

Crap. At what diff. are ou playing? normal? And it goes for all your notes, where you write of possibility to build 7lvl in 1st week (except Stronghold)
Imho, disadvantages:
1) 30 wood for cavs. is way too much.
2) no chances to build more mage guild lvls if you decide go for angels  And vice versa
3) Shooters too fragile 
Pluses:
1) 1 of the strongest starting forces (pikemen+marksmen)
2) Angels rock even not upgraded
3) griffin conserv.

Mullich gives HUGE advantage in any battle in the begining/middle of the game. In lot of games he is banned =) Valeska is also cool at the start.

Your advice sucks, calling lvl 4 spell heroes for "über heroes" is the biggest toss around.
So this is what you do:
A) Stop giving braindead advice based on singleplayer
B) Listen to what the vet says and take notice from that advice.
C) Stop arguing with the vets about their ideas.
D) Play this game online via zone and try to get a TOH vet to play you.
E) Keep saves from each day with him so you know how he was able to kill you soooo bad.
F) Come back here and laugh at your braindead advice based on singeplayer.

He's just offering his opinion, if I had written it, I'm sure I would have glorified Rampart. I just think they're the best outside of Conflux. I also would have ragged on Stronghold a little bit. I have little experience with them, but from the people I've played that use them; I'm not impressed.
*on a side note- how is Kyrre pronounced? Is it pronounced Kire with the long "i" and soft "e" or ist it Kyree, with the long "i" and the long "e"? It's been bugging me for a while.

That was in May, from then on everybody stopped calling other people names and thank God other everybodies stopped spamming the board with single player advices.
Now it's all one happy family; so no need to worry Aqua.
And the way u pronounce Kyrre kinda depends on what ur native language is.

Town Types
I guess this whole thread really reinforces the old saw about opinions.
Personally, I prefer playing either the Tower, the castle, or the necro.
As for heros, if I have Gelu available, I'll play the rampart.
All the other towns have their advantages (give me a huge stack of ancients any day), but personal opinion is, I'll just attempt to take over whatever towns I can find and use their best monsters. (gotta love those Mighty Gorgons and the death stare! Nobody is immune).
At the level I play (generally at the impossible level becasue I'm a conceited bastard), and the XL maps, things even out over time.

As possibly the Worlds Worst Heroes Player (I have this title copyrighted btw, it is mine) my opinion is probably pretty crappy but I just like participating with Gootchie-poo...
First off, castle. What about Tyris, who is my choice of main about 90% of the time? Cavaliers (my must-have early build) as speciality and her tactics skill are massively helpful. She also tends to get offered skills such as diplomacy when she level-ups.
As for rampart... you know i disagree with you about the graphics... if you just did yoga, you'd understand . Anyway:- Yeah, the units don't blend well I'll give you that. Although Grand Elves rock my world, I've gotta say that Pegs die to easily, you can't resurrect dragons (which is a pain) and dendroids and dwarves are so slow that there is a temptation to just leave them at home. Possibly the worst grail structure in the game an be found here.
Hero wise, what about Gelu? He pretty much trumps anyone else. Sharpshooters are an asset and a half, there's no denying it. Also Clancy, for his unicorns, and Gem is a useful hero to have early on for her first aid, although not so later. You also overlooked Melpha, who is the hippy Neela to all practical purposes.
Inferno:- I can only agree about the poxy fireball attack which can decimate your own army when you're a little wee nOOb. But I'm warming (ha ha ha) to inferno... no less for the fact that if you get the grail you suddenly have a million billion familiars hanging around.
Fortress:- Stupid crappy lizardy gnoll things. That and the fact that if you move out of swamp terretory you don't move AT ALL. And the nasty music gives me migranes.
Stronghold:- The SUV of castles. Big, strong, tough with any terrain and eats resources. And I love orcs. Orcs are the underrated champions of the stronghold. it's by far th best town to play on random maps, surely?
My only major complaint is how random the tunderbird's special is.. pah!!
Necropolis:- Ghost dragons. What the hell is up with that??? The real trump here has to be vamps and powerliches though... although the requirements for the mausoleum can be tricky to meet early on, they are incredible.
Hero wise with those crappy ghost dragons, thant is the obvious choice, right? Vidomina secondary.
Dungeon:- Portal of summoning with a dragon cave flagged... oh yes, you beauty. And minos. I can't decide if evil eyes are an excellent unit or just plain awful. Hero wise it has to be mutare, although I like Jeddite as a garrisoned hero (ressurection is very handy defensively).
I also prefer to use the medusa as a hand to hand troop rather than a shooter, so the fact that they only have 4 shots actually works out fairly well for me, but probably not for someone who can actually play the game... lol
Tower:- Hmm, I have to agree you Gootchie AGAIN. Not good. Given the choice I'd likely brave the migranes of the fortress. The tower was okay when the gremlin rush was still possible. Damn the patches to hell.
It's pretty good if you rely heavily on defensive tactics and favour a large number of shooters in your game. Skyship is likely the second weakest grail structure:- knowledge boost is handy but by the time you have the grail you can see 90% of the map anyway. also the landmines are no substitiute for a propper moat after moat penalites were introduced. If anything this town was stronger before patching and add ons. Which doesn't make sense. Then again, that might just be me...
