I guess nobody can know for sure, so the safest bet would be "wounded". In fact, I don't think that this does matter a lot because the war in Iraq is not only about one person, because by himself he can't do anything. Sure he is a symbol and a leader, but when his country is being taken over by the US I don't think he can do much.
IMHO, the only reason the US is making such a big deal out of this is because most Americans like hearing about one person - both good and bad news - instead of focusing on the big picture. It's like they need to put a face on every country so they can define its personality.

Saddam recently took a walk through Baghdad to raise morale among the iraqi public.
He appears to be in good shape, but could he be one of saddam's many 'doubles'?

I assume that Saddam is alive, but in deep hiding. I don't think the American soldiers will find him, he's probably hiding in some deep underground fortress or has been exiling himself to Syria where he is under protection from the Syrians.

Saddam is definitely alive, for sure. Since the US has declared war over in Iraq, over 70 Allied soldiers have been killed in guerrilla attacks, and I believe that these attacks were almost certainly co-ordinated by Saddam Insane and his Jihad gang. He is definitely hiding somewhere.

Oh well we killed the SOB's sons so we are just waiting for papa to quit being a wuss so we can capture him and introduce him to the good old U.S. "happy chair" that is of course if he didn't die already of embarassment after having his "horrible and terrible" republican guard completely decimated.
