the Pit Lords do not come from hell in HoMM universe. The demons are aliens, also known as Kreegans.

Yes I know, I have played might and magic VII, however replace forces of hell with foces of the kreegan and I think you've the same result more or less.

DEVILS are Kreegans for sure. It isn't obvious about other Inferno units (e.g. Efreeti and Gogs lived on Antagarich before Kreegans).

Greg Fulton stated that the Inferno is populated by aliens who look like demons, and left it at that.
To me it seems Demons, Pit Fiends and Devils constitute the Kreegan in H3, and the other four types of Inferno unit are their allies/slaves/pets.

Efreets and Gogs - related to Plane of Fire.
Imps and Demons - Kreegan pets.
Hounds - mutated dogs.
Pit Lords and Devils - Kreegans (Devils may be half-Kreegans, such as Xeron)
Also, Succubuses and MM-Devils are pure Kreegans too.
