Ah. Yes. As a spell caster, the Pale Master is not all that great, indeed. Though, it still has its place.

It's similar to the Black Guard.  Yeah he has some nice abilities but there are several classes better at doing what he does.

I guess. I can't think of a great Blackguard. But that PM/DD is a pretty nice character. Crit/Sneak Immune, with DR of some nice number. 27, I think I could get it up to. Doesn't get all attacks per round, but I like it anyway.

Oh yeah, how about I use a Scroll of Healing and leave your Undead with 1d4 HP?

All right, your Undead would beat up my Assassin because he's "cheating".

But what I was saying is a "fair" fight - that is, having the same "power" in items and not having played any Modules, since some of them boost some of your character's stats or they can even make your char immortal and then nobody would be able to defeat him/her anymore

I mean, if you want a "fair" character that does not "cheat", you should create a new character from scratch and join this Module. You can then set up the level you want, BUT the amount of gold is limited and is based on level, so you can't have +20 items on everything for example. When you're done creating your items you should check the Magic Mirror to see if you're "fair" or a "cheater". So yeah, no more "overpowered items" and "overpowered character"

I mean, sure, I can create a character with +20 Sword, +20 Armor, +20 Boots, +20 Amulet, +20 Ring and other stuff like that, but that's not "fair" (fair =/= impossible or not reachable through Bioware Modules - I mean, even Bioware could place lots of +20 items)

With the above +20 items I would have an AC of 118 Clearly unreachable by anyone

And Blind Fight doesn't work on Self Concealment It works only when you're blinded or the target has Concealment bonus from Improved Invisibility.

Doesn't matter.  Your rogue would be toast anyways.

Besides, all of my gear for my perfectly legit character was either made by him, found, or bought along the way.  I really don't recall finding anything higher than +10 in my journeys although I could be mistaken and my memory is a little shakey after the soul crushing defeat I just endured.

Ok, how about this: I buy 10 Scrolls of Issac's Greater Missile Storm (which deal a lot of damage) and cast them towards you. With you missing me 95% of the time, I'm pretty sure those 10 uber-spells would finish you off

Or, as I said, cast Heal and you're finished (or Harm, if you're not Undead)

That's another uber-aspect of my char: that she can cast spells from scrolls

And I tell you something else: with some traps (electric mostly) I could defeat an Adamantine Golem (from the Standard palette, not a weaker version) at level 15!. I'm sure you can't do that

Ok ok, enough of this. And I mean it

Keep qualifying.  I'm sure if you bought enough stuff you could beat me.  Actually seeing as how my character is just a tiny screen capture now in my save directory, he's not really up for fighting.  Oh yeah, he's also quite old in the pic.  Let's see... Wake... puts him at about 70 or so if I'm correct.  Old enough to have grandchildren anyways.

If you get your kicks from beating up old people, the more power to you, you sick, sick woman.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to forget the last 9 hours of my life ever happened.

Where? If it's from the NWN campaigns, I'm telling you that it's not from there, and I'm pretty sure (even IF there is a NPC called Asheera... I don't even remember)

I'm telling you my name was created looong after I played the NWN campaigns so it's not from there (but I don't really remember from where)

Really? I remember that "good" Aribeth, it's her name really "Asheera"?

I'm telling you it's just a coincidence, it's not from there

EDIT: Ok, I thought deeply about this and I remember from where Asheera came from (not just the name)

1) The name Asheera was actually inspired by a Vampire in the module Tales of Arterra - The Lost whose name is "Asheara". I modified it a little to not be completely a copy, but it seems there already is a "Asheera" in NWN official campaign.

2) The character was inspired by Lady Tianara from the module Tales of Arterra - The Awakening. In fact, from the credits of the author I found out about Lineage 2 in the first place (Tianara has a portrait from Lineage 2 artwork)

Phew, that's it, I finally remembered

I think it may stir up things a bit, but w/could you help me? What is your opinion: Elder Scrolls: Oblivion compared to Neverwinter Nights2.
Not only in an RPG aspect, but all in all. Might I would buy one of them (in uncertain future) and would like to know which is "better".
Thanks.

Question: The PC on which I would like to patch NWN1(original) is not connected to internet. Would it work if I downloaded those so called "critical rebuild files" and install them on the other PC?...

Well, it all depends on what you are in the mood for.  NWN2 is a squad based rpg that's fairly traditional D&D story.  Oblivion is a first person rpg that really allows you to do whatever you want, whenever you want.  I'll list off some pros and cons for you.

NWN2
Pros:
-Great character customization.
-Lots of races, classes, spells, skills, feats, etc, etc., to fiddle around with.
-Lots of mods with an active community.
-Good graphics.
-Great expansion with a second on the way.
-Character interaction is handled very similar to Knights of the Old Republic.
-Good music.
-Good voice work with a few exceptions.
-Mask of the Betrayer has an excellant story and adds some interesting twists to the game.
-Lots of quests.
-Branching storyline.
-You get your own castle and army.

Cons:
-The original campaign doesn't offer much replayability.
-You need a good cpu to run the game well.  Don't try it on a laptop.
-Some of the prestige classes are broken.
-Some of the races are worthless.
-The interface can be complicated for beginners.
-Story is nothing exceptional.
-Patching is a pain on a dial-up connection especially when your clever plans of transferring everything with an external hard drive do not work.

Oblivion
Pros:
-Excellant graphics.
-Good music.
-Pretty much a sandbox environment.
-Interesting leveling system.
-Lots of loot to collect.  If it's not nailed down, you can take it.
-The interface is very easy to learn.
-Good voice work (if not a little repetitive)
-Active mod community.
-Shivering Isles adds a lot to the gameplay.
-Lots of replayability.
-Tons of quests.
-Factions.

Cons:
-Compared to Morrowind, Oblivion is quite simple.
-The game is way too easy at higher character levels.  Once you hit level 40, there is little that can stop you.
-Enemies scale with your level.  It's nice to fight tougher opponents but gets old after awhile.
-Gets boring after awhile.
-Some skills take a long time to train.
-The story is so-so.
-Not the toughest rpg out there.

I didn't list everything but that's the way I see it.

Yes. However, for a critical rebuild to work, it has to be the exact same version to that of the game. That means the same language and whether you have the expansions or not. Go here and download the corresponding critical rebuild patch

Exactly what I suspected... :hmpf:

Compared to NWN1, in which fields is NWN2 better/advanced/different/etc.? [except those you have already mentioned] Eg. is that interface really sooo hard and confusing?

If you've played NWN, then interface won't be anything new.

The changes between the two are primarily technical.  NWN2 does add some new races and Mask adds more, supplying plenty of diversity.  The Pale Master is still a fairly worthless spellcaster (but it has other uses as Alkar pointed out).  Mask offers two new base classes and 5 prestige classes, which is quite nice.  The Gensai are interesting for races.

Between the two, if I could only pick one, I'd go with NWN2 becuase I absolutely loved NWN and played the heck out of it.  I can't even remember how many mods I had for that game.  NWN2 has some good ones too, notably Nighthowls in Nestle... something like that.  I'm trying to get a new one to run but I've having a bit of difficult with the installation.  Plus I'm all about character creation.  I've wasted a lot of time planning out what I believe would be a good build.  Also, NWN2 feels more epic than Oblivion to me, especially Mask of the Betrayer.

I need your help again:
Yesterday I downloaded that critical ebuild file to my pendrive and all data on it (including the rebuild file) have lost. Now I downloaded it to my PC's harddrive but I can't copy it to the pendrive [in order to install it on an other computer]. I'm told that "the file system is wrong or it can't be (ex)changed" or something like this (I'm not an expert of translating error messages).

Do you have any clue?
Thanks.
