2v2 Tournament
I think its time to start the 2v2 tourney.. There is no need to wait any longer

Ves man, how would you know? You never on GS!  But seriously, there really are a good 15-20 people wanting to play 2v2s right now. I think maybe a tourney consisting of around 8 teams (in bracket form i would assume... goes from 8 to 4 to 2 to 1) would be great.

I'd rather have it happen sooner than later. There aren't that many 2v2 maps, so if we wait that much longer, all participants would know the map.
It's nice 'cause it's new.

ok.let me tell you a story.
i remember my self,when i use to smoke regular cigarettes...the packet ones,camel,luckystrike and so on..
..whenever i seen someone smoking tabacoo and rolling..
i went like 'oh maan,mazochists'
been some years that i roll my owns,old holborn basically..
..whenever i see someone smoking the 'camel' ones..
i go like 'oh maan,low,low'
i guess if i stop smoking one day
i'll go like 'oh maan,thats idiotic'
so.i have one word.

True, but dont need to be. I review the winloss report stats daily. In homm3 2v2 tourns never really succeeded, and that was at peak activity. If there is enough demand, I will run a homm4 teams tourney, but I would bet that it would not succeed (or I would have suggested it in the first place)
However, its up to the members, and whatever they wish, I will set up

if this get started.there should be a rule like..lords-emperors,can team up with legions and below..or sumthin.
if ppl see a youri-sacred and bm-hidden,for example...all barons below,would get discouraged..
if we see such snow happening,ofcourse tourn will fail!
so,set us some rules,so we start pairing up?

Hey Insatiable Youri-Sacred and BM-Hidden would be lord-legy and legy-emperor which is what you suggested and out of these 2 I would fear Youri-Sacred more cause they're friends in RL and would play much better in 2vs2 tourney IMHO

lol, well if you are looking for someone to "pair" up with i read in another thread that kolia were looking for some people to "play" with in a threesome...so maybe you guys should "pair" up and spread your HIV knowledge

hmmm... judging from posts in that "play" thread it seems middle place would be taken by yourself already? 
And besides, im a HIII player so im kinda old fashioned... this new 3 part guy sandwhich stuff aint my thing. I prefer it the "ancient" way with a girl
you know what they say, "if it aint broke dont try and fix it"...and im afraid thats the way many of us HIII players feel. We like the classic thing and aint up for no new "knowledge" which is worser than the orginial. But if you feel that the HIV way is the way to go then so be it! be proud of being a HIV person!
So im sorry pedicyrica, but i guess if you want out of that HIV sandwich you gotta look elsewhere for some other person with HIV passion

OK guys, although I have yet to play a 2o2 game in H4, I'll give you the low down on 2vs2 tournies and styles from VAST and I mean VAST homm3 2vs2 games.
#1 Bracket set ups don't work for round 1... neither do actual teams.
A 2vs2 tourney must be set up like this intially to have any hopes for success..
Its is open for registeration and can accept X # of single players..
This group of players then has a round 1, of free challenge 2vs2 games, in which any player may pair up with any player, and play vs any other 2 players in the tournament. This is done addicts style, and points are accumulated.
#2 Round 2.. Teams are established. This is again run addicts style, players may play for Full points with their team mate vs another team. However.. players may also play with any other player participating in the tourney (providing that they are not playing vs their own team mate) Games of this nature are awarded half points.
Remember brackets don't work here.
#3 Disregard #1 and #2...
Teams are now set.. The top 4-8 teams (dependant on activity level, and # of players in the tourney) are set in bracketed matchs.. After going through rounds 1 and 2, addicts style will now work, of course since the players who are in the finals have done their time in the addicts round, proving both their activity and desire to play 2vs2.
This is the only feasable way to run a 2vs2 tourney that will not end in multiple forfeits and disputes regarding game times time zones, and general misunderstandings.
Now I know many people feel that addicts style is not really a fair way to gauge a sub tournament. But in 2on2 this is not the case.
Its my experience that if a player has time for 1 2o2 per week, he probably has time for more than that. The other issue with 2o2 is the massive time slot needed to play. This also limits the true addicts ability to swamp the subtournament by just playing so damn many games you can't catch up.
Approximately 50% of 2o2 games will DEFINATELY end about half way through, with a player falling asleep, something coming up, or some such "excuse" the save is made, and unless your good freinds with those guys, or you see them alot online, the chance to finish ithat game is almost hopeless.
Anyway, during homm3 I played in each and every 2o2 event that was held.. from Heroes Kingdom, to bastards, to toh, to the ToT sub season... 90% of these tourneys Failed misreably in rd1. The only real memorable one was the bastards tourney 2o2, which used this format, and went active and finished right till the end. This was however during real peak activity of homm3.
Maybe if Pandora or JB sees this post they can post the actual formula or set up they used in that 2o2, I think it would be very helpful..
Anyway thats all for now.. Hope I have helped a bit...
PS: I will not be participating in any 2o2 tounry
I have a hard time finishing 1o1 as it is
Best luck though, 2o2 is the BEST way to play heroes.
