A Mistake with Heroes IV Devil

The Devil in the Heroes IV teleports about the battlefield when in combat.

However when the devil is moving about the adventure screen he is walking.  Surely he would teleport from his starting position to the end of his walk which is the last bit of arrows.

I think that is not a problem;
you would have wanted to teleport him behind the stacks of creatures and steal the resources ?

All the other creatures move across the adventure screen exactly like they do in combat.  Only the Devil move different.

I think it would be nice to see the devil teleport from his starting position to the end of his movement.

More for continuity

Well... there is one creature - Evil Sorceress... SHe also walks, not teleports...

I haven't look at the expansion creatures at the moment so i dont know how they move.

Oh well that two that don't move properly.

Thats Teleporters for you.

If the devil is the strongest creature in the army, but there are also others, then the army looks like a devil, but only the devils from the army can teleport. So the devils have to walk because the others can only walk. A devils-only army could teleport, but then NWC would have to make two different movement animations.

well i think that the game is slow enough...teleporting well proll slow it down even worse, but i think that dev an evil sor should tele. they should be sble to teleport behind monsters to get stuff only the devil by himself as not to allow the flaging of mine and soforth. Cause the tieves can do that sorta..i think more map creatur ablities would be a good thing....


...Mabe the reason the dont is they know that they will get fat if they teleport everywhare, so they have to walk some times

It's an interesting idea to have creatures with adventure map skills that mirror their combat skills.
For example the black dragon could set fire to trees on the adventure map or fly over hills. Berserkers could run away uncontrollably. Hydras could pick up more than one resource/artifact at a time. You could send out harpies and they would come back at the end of the turn. etc.

You know Count, I was thinking, I think that we are on to something. That is a good idea and it would be more statg. to have map abilitys.

Maybe it is a nice idea, map abilities, but Counts ideas don't sound very useful to me. Maybe the flying over hills if your army consists of flyers only, but then mapmakers will make their maps so that all important 'walls' are mountains, and there is less choice for them to vary the landscape.
You can send out your harpies and let them return - just split them off as a separate army

Ah but if the strongest creature is the vampire in the necroplis before the devil or bone dragon is acquired before, then the army which consists of imps, ghost skeletons and vampires all turn into a vampire and fly across the adventure map.  

It should be for the devil just to teleport instead more animation has been put towards the devil walking.
