...this way you will be able to post cool pics and links for the rest of us who are too lazy to actually copy/paste the urls...
and an unfortunate url will tell you that you cannot access the page by a link in a forum. i am quite an isolated self-learner and thought that i'll rather have people copy/paste the url-s. maybe i am worrying overmuch? ok, i'll post the url-s as links next time. about pictures there would be more reason not to post them directly imho, because any time anyone opens the thread they would be loaded.

i have the impression that the style of decoration was somewhat different in the case of greek and roman helms, even if their basic shape was similar. i.e. imho the greek helms had more plain surface. in that sense lordtitan's helm might indeed resemble roman helms a bit.

Titans realy need to be changed. We've made that point 100
times O.K?

So lets move on to something a bit more interesting. Like dragons. Where'd they all go anyways? An interesting subject. did they all die in the giant fireball of doom or
what? Atleast they could have put in new species or something.
Example: Blue, Silverback, White, Orange, Red Troaghted and Stripped Dragons.
The Dragons realy need to be changed. Like I said earlier
the black ones look 'fat'.
There used to be hundreds of dragons, now there's three.

And that is bad?

I think it's good there are only...how many...four dragons now (if you count the golems). Before that, it was pick-a-color-and-put-dragon-at-the-end thing. Gold, azure, green, blue, black, cyan, magenta, fuschia, chocolate-coated with peppermint sprinkles dragon. Didn't make much sense.

But the creature graphics in H4 suck mostly. Cerberi look like they haven't been eating much lately. Devils look like they've rushed from the dinner table to fight (the forks). Blackies look like they've been practising new dance moves, the way they move their necks while flying (it really set me laughing the first time I saw it). The Angels look awesome, the phoenix looks better than h3 but nothing can come close to the beautiful creature in H2. That phoenix was lovely. The behemoths look like giant shaved rats who "high five" when they attack someone on a tower. The nagas have lost their nice attack animation and it's just a plain swish. In fact, I really do have a lot to complain about what they've done with the creature animation. Everything is so small and the attack scenes not very impressive (you can't tell if the peasant is attacking you or himself).

GIMME SOMETHING BETTER IN H5!!!

If 3do doesn't come up with something good soon, I will never buy anything from them again... I'm serious! If their game qualety doesn't improve, they will crash and burn.

The animation on attacks never did amount to anything, in fact, it got worse, the monsters barely attack in H4. The just sorta swing whatever weapon the have around and hope to hit something, it's done very poorly.
A lot of monsters don't even make sense. Take for an exaple waspwarts. What the %&@(#*!!! are they? The were never there before! And where'd they come from? I know it's another continant but you gotta make some evelutionary sense! GEEZE!

Yeah i agree alot of the monsters look terrible in H4.  Plus you have to remember that earlier you could upgrade creatures, making them better and making them look much cooler.  But some of the monsters look good in H4.  The devils look ok.  They have a really dumb weapone(a mini trident?) but the Devils have burnt wings.  They have burnt wings like they were once Angels but they turned into Devils.  Its little details like that which make monsters look better.
Fairy Dragons look like shaved dragons.  Angels dont look as good as they did upgraded in H3 but now they die really cool.  Does anyone remember the vampires from H3?  Those were really ugly.

So their is no 3DO now??????

Well, since we're speaking of creature and character design, I couldn't help not to mention Disciples 2. Has anybody seen the characters in that game? Now that's the best character and creature design I've seen in a fantasy game.

Now, on Heroes I agree that the graphics lost the charm of H2, but the look of the H5 Phoenix gives me hope. It's similar to the one from H2. I think they should return to the faery tale art setting from H2. Anyone remember the Archmage from H2, the un-upgraded version in the red robe, and the attacking animation? That was cool. And the Paladin was simply breathtaking.

I hope JVC is wise to bring the Paladins back in the game and the Dread Knights from H3 as well.

a vampire of taste
posted June 11, 2003 01:05 AM

After reading all the posts, thre is only one thing that is certain: therer are as many tastes as players are. By the way, I think the Vampire lords in h3 were some of the exquisite creatures ever in h series. But that's just me.
There are also the pegasi that I'd love to see back in battle. i wonder - how could they eliminate them in h4?
Hopefully h5 will follow in the h3 steps.

The ArchMage was totaly ausome!!!
Even with all that fairy tale stuff all monsters look better in H2.
Oh yah... Why the heck is there a goblin riding a boar for the monster 'Boar' in H3? It makes no sense to me.
The towns and Campaigns were plotted out a lot better in H2 aswell. I just love that old Archie Vs Rollo campaign. It actuwuly made sense, ulike H3: Aragedon's Blade, Some dork is trying to set to world on fire with ye' old firey sword from the bowls of hell, YOU ARE THE ONLY MAN WHOU CAN STOP HIM!!!!
What was with that? It's Trash! And the H4 campaigns are no better. They're always the same plot, good is doing it's own thing, then some evil guy decides to try to take over the world. Big deal. What ere they going to do when they have the world anyways? The worst thing they could possibly make us do is watch Telli Tubbies (I realy hate that show).
And why is it always one lone dude try to stop the 'black hearted devil spawn of the dark side of the moon'? Why can't it be a whole bunch of people, not just 3 or 4 but THOUSANDS of guys trying to stop evil (Without being hired of course)? And the monsters don't help. They just tone down the emensly low cool level to something like -5. They realy have to change things if they want to kepp HOMM alive for another 3 months.

I agree about the Vampire Lord. It's the most vampire looking vampire in the Heroes series

As for the plot - the stories out of Erathia never really bought me. The Archie - Roland duel was a classic, and it had so much more space for developing. I think that with the move out of the original Might & Magic universe Enroth the game lost big part of it's soul. I just don't like Erathia, and Axeoth didn't charmed me at all. The name Heroes of Might & Magic lost it's meaning because the Heroes of Might & Magic were Sir Gallant and Co. I sincerely hope that the new continent on Axeoth where H5 will take place will be similar to Enroth. And maybe they can name it "New Enroth" That would be cool.

As for the creatures, I would really love to see neutral ghosts as in H2. They're so cool.

Doesn't everybody?

Anyways I think that we should continue making great stuff and make our own HOMM5 if 3do goes completely bankrupt.
