All persons has different opinions, and therefor you and other members here have a different idea of what spam is.
And as nebs is trying to tell you, read RMS reasons for closing those threads. "Spam" is not one of those reasons.
If you are going to stand up for RMS and "agree" with him in this case, atleast learn what he/we are talking about first.
oh and btw, if you had read my posts properly you would know by now that i have read the "please only..." thread.

I'm sorry if your not happy with my reply but RMS did put links to the old treads wth the new ones. Although I dn't completly agree with thread closing I don't think RMS did anything wrong. The threads can still continue. Just because it has a slightly different name and not so many pages doesn't mean it will atomatically suck. As long as it continues from where we left off, what's the big deal? Give the guy a break. You're all WAY to critical.

If you try to blame both Romanas&RMS resignation on me Lich_King i seriously recommend that you should take a moment thinking about this.
These are heavy accusations you know and i do expect an apology.
Iam yet to demand any mods resignation, and if you think you can be a mod without any responsibility (like giving out a mod password in exchange for an alternate username, or close threads thats a big part of this place history without asking its posters) and not hear from the members... you might wanna take a minute to think about that too.
Also i would like to know why i am made scapegoat for the mods..."lack of judgement" sometimes.
Like now when you try and blame the resignation of Romana and possibly RMS on me.
Newsflash: If Romana hadnt done what she done about her PW, and RMS wouldnt have closed these threads there would be nothing to argue about.
But i guess its easier to blame it all on me since im known as the "troublemaker" here instead of looking at your own mistakes huh?
Also i would like to point out that i didnt start out calling for romanas resignation, it was Dear_Morons that started the attack on her.
Nor did i start this thread, Lord_Crusader did.
Yet its my name that keeps coming up.
But I guess its easier to always blame the scapegoat huh?
Even if i used to have confidence in you Lich_King, it sure did hit rock bottom now with these attacks.
EDIT: And for the record: I dont think RMS should be removed because of this, just accept what has been said. Everyone makes mistakes, but it is how you handle them that matters.

Only one arogant (and ignorant) here is you.
Missing the point of thread and having 'hollier than thou' attitude.
RMS, no need to resign, you were, and still are damn fine mod. Don't make this 'mistake' (IMO) gets you down.
These things are easily fixable.
p.s. Don't bring Romana's name in discussion here, Lich. Nothing to do with topic and I'm sure she wouldn't be happy seeing her name here.

OK people ... I have waited with my reply on this (and the view on this from HC's policy perspective) till most members have had the chance to express there thoughts about the subject at hand.
Now it seems that most have shed there light on this subject and that things are getting a bit out of hand its time or me to tell u all the folowing.
RMS had the wrong arguments for closing those threads and he is now sorry he did so. He has already suggested he step down from his "modhood". This will not be necessary.
What is necessaray is that in future we will go back to the basics of why a thread can/will be closed. This is long period of inactivity. Furthermore a single mod won't be closing threads without the consent of his/her fellowmods of the forum in question.
Ofcourse this doesn't apply to the *10045's I am new here thread* but does apply to the bigger, more important threads.
We all make mistakes that is true .. some effect us more then others. What now remains is to re-open teh threads (which I am doing NOW )
I think that now we have made some extra groundrules on this we can now move on with normal HC stuff!@

What Lich king is talking about is something completely different then what RMS is.
RMS made a booboo..that's all folks
And it really astounds me that all those thread are now generalised as being spam.

Hey Hexa, I'd say you're first idea sounds best. Perhaps the new ones instead of hanging around could be deleated. They didn't have that many posts in them anyway so'm sure noone will throw a real big fit.

After sleeping on it, I found that I was still pissed that the threads were killed, but now that they are reopened I guess I should feel better about it.
So I ask myself what are some reasons that threads should be closed? The only reason I can think of is that it's an Illegal thread (discussing how to crack, steal or other untoward activity) and when a thread is just a flame war (one time I had a flame war with someone and that thread was closed and the other guy had the last word- boy that ticked me off too).
Threads don't need to be killed, let them die of old age.
(Except Saga threads whiched were closed to create continuity in the role-play(but that was a good reason))
(Dammit I was worked up again and was going to fight for the "naked" thread, now I'm all frustrated. BTW these kind of arguements are not necessarily bad for HC they help us to realize what kind of forum we want and help show the mods what we want and don't want from them.)
