Anyone see the New york yankees first no hitter since 1952 last night against Houston.
How the hell did they do that with six different pitchers.

WTF is a no hitter??? is that good or bad???
Don't worry, I just don't follow baseball that much cause its not on TV much.

It's a game of hit or miss.
The pitcher is trying to miss the bat and the batter is trying to hit the ball. Everything else is just details.
Oh, and the Yankees are evil.
And stadium beer is overpriced and it's always freakin' light beer.

The pitcher must throw the ball over the plate in the height between the shoulders and knees of the batter. If the batter misses 3 times he's out and if the pitcher throws wrong 3 times the batter gets to first base for free(I think?)
A homerun is when the batter hits the ball and can hit the home plate in one turn
Rest I dunno ( is there a rest?)

4 times, but otherwise correct.
If the batter hits the ball and it is caught before it hits the ground, the batter is out. If the ball is fielded and thrown to first base (and caught at first base) before the batter reaches first base, he is out. If the batter is tagged by the ball when he is not on base, he is out. There are three outs per team per inning and 9 innings if there is no tie.

Don't worry, I just don't follow baseball that much cause its not on TV much.
A no hitter does not mean that a no players make contact with the ball, it means that not one single player gets to first base from a hit ball. I think a player can be walked to first base and that is still a no hit but at one point they had 8 consecutive strike outs. Its a big deal especially against a team like the NYY and a lot of pressure on the weaker pitchers towards the end of the game. I think six different pitchers is a new place in the history books.
btw. im not sure about the cubs chances without sosa for the next seven games.

I disagree that this is glorified rounders becacause the pitching/hitting system creates a lot of psycology between the two of them and it is an unusual sport in that ther are very few outstanding players under 30. It is not a young mans sport like most and only those players that still have the tools physically once they have mastered the mental side of the game get to reach the hall of fame, but they are usually over 35 by then.
Rounders could never become a major league sport because it just isnt challenging enough. Some people say that football is just a game with 22 players kicking a ball around a field. People always over simlify that which they either dont like or dont understand,some people think that all chinese look the same, but they dont once you get to know a few personally.
