Poll Question:
change heroes faces HELP
hey.....I wonder how you can change heroes faces....I dont want to have oldone.....I only have the "new" Nagash.....what do I do....I found som heroes potrait on this page http://www.strategyplanet.com/homm/camelot/heroes/heroespics.htm
but I dont understand what they mean....help me please....

I voted "how do I do". 
Seriously, there's supposed to be a short instruction when you (double) click on the file, something like "just unpack this file to your Heroes/Data folder".

Yhee...I tried that but it dosenīt work......i created a map under the name wog and there I have all heroes 3 complete files and WOG......then i unpacked the file with diffrent potraits of heroes on the C:\wog\data but when I start the game it dosent make a change........what does that mean???

the .pcx files goes wherever your heroes and wog is loaded from. As in if heroes is installed in c:\programfiles\h3complete then the .pcx files goes in the c:\programfiles\h3complete\data directory. WoG is installed in the main h3 directory so if you put the pics in the data dir for h3 it is also in WoG. Hope this helps if not you are doing something wrong

thanks....i know now.......but does anyone know were you can find lots of pics for heroes faces?? I mean cool pics........

You saying mine aren't cool?  LOL. No the only place I know that has any pics is my site. But if makes you feel better I am working on a new better set than my 1st attempt with Byte and Kitten

Another place I could only think of is ModHomm. They have pics to choose from. Some are good and excellent. Some, of course are in the eyes of the beholder...
Other than that, I just end up making my own, or team up with Gan & Kitten when I get the chance and time.

Its great but I wish there was a way to create our own heroes instead of replacing existing heroes

It's easy..... I have Adobe Photoshop. You can get the sizes of the pcx's needed at the ModHomm site. It tells you the pixel size of 2 different pcx's. Take any portrait, size them accordingly, convert the pic using 256 color, then save as a pcx file, and assign them the proper name: HPS###.pcx is the smaller one, HPL###.pcx is the larger one. Then put them in the Heroes Data. Hell, if I can do it, anybody can do it.

It should be, but the links aren't working. Help, info...?
And if you don't like some of the faces ( new Solmyr, for example ), simply browse your Data folder using ACDC and delete both large and small portraits. Old files will be restored.
