Inferno tactics and strategies

Does anyone know some inferno tactics that are of big importance and extreme plus to that town? I was thinking about playing with them, so I wanna know anything about them before I begin.

Edit: revived!@

best advice I could give is:

don't bother to upgrade the gogs or demons....EVER

well, unless you're really desperate to find a way to spend cash for little return

Advice:
1:The only upgrades to bother with are Cerberus and Archdevil.
2:Build the Cages to boost your Hellhound production.
3:You don't have a lot of HP, so go after any external dwellings you can find.

I'd say get Efreet Sultans as soon as possible.

I also think Magogs are a worthwhile upgrade though... but moslty for town defense.

Magogs, are really usefull if you take care in what you do. Remember, your most important troops are Efreet Sultans and Cerberus. You should really take care with Archdevils, because they have little HP, use their speed and no retaliation atack, but do never leave them in a very vulnarable place, because they get killed very fast (i just remember a time when I put about 20 Archdevils, against 80 Dendroids, and the dendroids killed all my Archdevils with little casualties). If you are playing against the AI always take familiars to receive the shooters and tower fire, against a human take them only if your heroe has little spell points and need to get some extra points. The demons upgrade is not that bad, the dweling upgrade is not that expensive and each demon only cost you more 20 gold, and I think the 5 HP and +1 spd worth it. About pit lords, I usually don't upgrade them because I don't like that special very much and the pit lord costs more 200 gold for only +1spd.
Probably there is a lot of ppl that do not agree but this is how I play inferno.

I mostly play Inferno on Large&XL. They are useful on small maps sometimes too. See above...

The core of the Inferno army are the Demons, because you will get lots and lots of them if you play correctly. To begin with you shouldnīt buy those imps at all, and certainly never upgrade them. Wait until late in the game if you can to buy them. Then kill them and rais them as Demons with Pit Fiends. That will be about 50% extra Demons.
Not too much, but it helps.

The hordes will come from wandering stacks who joins you. A Demoniac will get diplomacy sooner or later in most cases. You might get lucky with other heroes as well. With diplomacy hire as many units as you can, kill them and raise as Demons. Of course this sounds more easy than it is, mostly the units you hire are too tough for other wandering stacks, so you have to kill them with your spells. Intelligence helps a lot.

A hero from another town could not possibly integrate his units with his regular army as good as the Inferno town. They will get units from 8 (or 9) towns while you use the same all along. Exactly like the Necropolis Skeletons, itīs just that the Demons are much stronger.

The one and only: MARIUS! Her speciality is Demons, enough said. She also begins with armorer and have no wasted skills.

There are a few other that are quite good too.
Nymus begins with offense, no wasted skills.
Octavia gives 350 gold. My first choice for small maps.
Rashka has scholar and could be used to teach your main hero spells.

These are all Demoniacs and are generally better than Heretics so use them as your main hero if you can.
Ayden is the best Heretic with speciality in intelligence.
Callid gives mercury, that comes always to good use.

Note that it would be an even better idea by raising Demons from 2ndary towns, but that would require either a chain of heroes or advanced town portal. In any case you would need a fat wallet.

Don,t forget about Armageddon with inferno troops especially efreets.  I recently lost legions of skeletons to an armageddon master with relatively few efreets and devils.

Yeah, and inferno has a pretty decent chance of getting Armageddon.  I think dungeon is higher, (and has a hero that starts with it,) but Inferno gets it quite often as well.

What!?

Dungeon has no hero that starts with armageddon...at least not in SoD. Is there a such in earlier versions? Crazy if that is the case.

i usually don't play inferno, but if u'r bored, i was told that u could swarm with demons by turning dead imps into demons with ur pit lords, but i doubt it really works...

but as i said, if u'r bored, u can try it

No hero starts with an Armaggedon spell. That would be the biggest unbalancer of all time. Rogue, you thought Meteor Shower, didn`t you?

so you wouldnt upgrade pit fiends then? Surely this Pit lords are the main strength of inferno

tossers:

If random map and quite rich one go for efreets first week, next week try and upg. to pit lords as soon as possible and start collecting demons. Use the imps and gogs as food and possible creatures from 2nd town.

As stated inferno is a low HP town although expensive, so getting lots of demons is vital.

oh and another thing, no matter how desperate you are dont try and attack a full naga bank week two and dont visit a well first...
