A GREAT Idea
Why don't you guys include the lastest wog maps in your patches and allinone packs. Then we don't have to download em' all when we reinstall and stuff.

That is a good idea so newbies can try out WoG maps that use some of the WoG only features.

Exactly, and for those who don't or can't be bothered checking WoG Tournament site themselves then they can get an update on all the maps at each update

I can see if the team wants to do that but remember the Tournament site I run is NOT a WoG team site and the maps are NOT a part of the teams. But I have no problem with it if the rest of the team doesn't.

This would be great to do if we had the time. RIght now, I know I could'nt be a part of this idea even though I'm also a mapmaker. Testing has been taking up most of my time and I only make maps as a "break" from testing. As a different answer to this idea, I suggest that our site keep maps updated instead. But as a filler for WoG maps, I think Gangrails site has accomplished this purpose above and beyond the call of what his site is primarily for: WoGfest type of maps.  I can't think of anyone on the team who could be available for such a task as to picking and choosing which maps and how many could be included with the downloads once they are available.

It won't take very long to include some maps with the download. If the WoG team have trouble deciding which maps to include, they could get members from the round table or HC to vote for their favourite WoG maps.

This is true, it would'nt take long to include the maps with the downloads. I concede to that. But now, you have to include testing the map for imperfections. THis is what would take the time. Especially if you include a lot of maps. Say, between 5 to 10. Since no one in the team is available to test maps for a WoG release, once the next update is ready for release, a delay would be issued because we are testing maps for the release. It could be done, I suppose, but the demand seems to be placed more on an update release without maps than a release delayed for an update with maps.If we finish what we need for a scheduled release of 3.58 ahead of time, I suppose that testing maps for the update could be done. But for now, this is the farthest thing from our mind(s). Hopefully we could find the time to do something like this in the near future. But who knows? Maybe a map or two will be included. But right now, none is planned for, as far as I know, with our next release. Concentration with the next generation of WoG seems to occupy us more for now...

Well actually if the team wants to do it. I can have the maps tested on my site and if found error free then Slava could put them all in a .wog file to install them into the game after the release of the newest WoG.

Well have the team thought of it, it is a good idea expeciallt for newbies and I don't know why they wouldn't include it. Also do you remember another idea I had, including ERM for dummies in 3.58 aswell, that would be good aswell.

Well the leader and Programer Slava is on vacation for 1 1/2 to 2 weeks so we really can't do anything till he gets back since it will fall on his hands to include the stuff in the updates. So we really won't know till then.

I got the idea from Blizzard when they released Brood Wars, they had map contests and added them to the expansion, lucky them 'cause their map went around the world, great advertising

Well on my site there is a map contest in the works but is taking time to get ready. On my maps page there is a list of maps for the upcomming contest if you have 1 that should be there let me know.
