Same Sex Marriage

Do you think homosexuals should be allowed to marry? Personally, I think they should call it a "Civi Union," and have it involve no church setting. It amazes and sickens me that any church would be willing to marry to people of the same sex.

I'm not saying that they don't have the rights, I'm just asking whether you think they should be church sponsored.

I dont see anything wrong with same sex marriages if thats what makes them happy then whatever HOWEVER!!!

I do think it is terrible wrong to adopt a child into a same sex marriage... If you want children maybe you should rethink your gayness

People who want a child in a same sex marriage are terrible for being so greedy... normally i dont care about such things but its truely wrong to wrong a child from the get go. Adopt a gay teenager if your that desperate.

Why not?  To use my all-purpose religious arguement...

Homosexuality is only listed as a sin in the old testament, much of which is now disregarded in a favour of the new... for instance, it is no longer acceptable to burn witches and we all eat meat on fridays.

A sin these days is what you make it and if two people love each other they should be allowed to do it in whichever way they please.

I have never understood why people look to the date on a calender to determine what is moral and what isnt.
fundamental principles cannot be decided this way. The law of nature says that you reap what you sew and does not give a toss what the calender says.

the government should not force churches to marry homosexual people. as is the case in some places.

I have nothing agains homosexual people, if the "come on to me" i will back off and probably stop talking to them, but if they dont force the issue as many do then by all means, be gay. Our mayor is gay, i dont really care, except when we hosted the gay pride day with parades and such. what offended me was that gay women were walking around with Strap on penises, it was terrible, you cant let your kids watch that!

but let them get married, in a courtroom. whatever.

i do not think they should be allowed to raise children, not without more research into how people become homosexual though. is it genetic? that seems weird to me, cause if you parents were gay how would you have been conceived? or is it something you learn? if its the latter of the two, do not allow homosexuals to raise children.

If two people love each other and they're both consenting than let them get married, fer cryin' out loud.

I have no problem whatsoever with homosexual couples (or singles, for that matter) raising children.  They can't do a worse job of it than most heterosexuals do.

I do not peg morality to the calender date.  Persecuting homosexuals was wrong in 2000 BC and it's wrong today.

Well I don't have any problem with the homsexual marriages, also two sexy girls kissing is the most exciting thing in this world, but I'm total disagree with they can have childrens, just think when the kid go to the school in her teacher ask tomorrow we have the father's day, or the mother's dya who gonna go?? I know is somthing simple but for a kid with 10 years is very hard to see he have two fathers or two mothers and the others guys have a mom and a dad I think that is sad...

To each his/her own. It's not something that I would ever consider doing, and I hope that my daughter continues to grow up feeling the same way as i do. I also agree that it would be a very difficult situation to bring a child in to.

With a child, you need both sides of the spectrum. The mom gives something the father can't, and vice versa. Nothing against single parents, there are some situatitions which can not be helped, but to actually put a child into that situtation is unfair to that child. Nothing against gay people, but I just care about the welfare of the children.

Let same sex couples marry, but let the religion of the church decide whether or not to marry them. More orthodox religions wouldn't allow it, but religions with looser rules might.

I'd say allow them to marry outside a church. If the Churches of the world want to prove how out of touch with reality and backward looking they are, then that's their moral choice, people will soon judge them on this matter and see how utterly pointless most organised religions are.

I think homosexuals should rethink their desire to celebrate marriage in a christian church. That organisation has persecuted them for thousands of years, and is still trying its best to make homosexual life difficult.

But if they really want to *shrug*, let them do it of course.

Sometimes it's just not advisable to openly do or admit something. There is a point when openly practising fundamental principals becomes lifethreatening. A good example would be witches. They were hunted down throughout history because people are afraid of the unknown. To me it seems that a "witch" back then would have been pretty stupid if she/he openly practised whatever they practise therefor making it known they are a witch which would lead to certain death, while nowadays that won't happen.

And the law of nature is all pretty and wonderfull in theory but obviously doesn't work in real life( discrimination, ignoring human rights, etc). I also have a feeling that the reaping what you sow thing depends on your status in society unfortunately. Some people reap the thing sown by others if you know what I mean...

We all have a vision on what's right and wrong but that doesn't mean someone else feels the same way. We all know discrimination is wrong but I've never seen or heard of a negro go into the KKK pronouncing it (just to give an example) Same goes with Homosexuality and certain churches. We might be accepting to homosexuality but some churches aren't.

My own perspective is I have nothing against homosexuals and I believe they have the same rights as anyone else. I also think if they decide to have a child it should be possible.
As for them marrying in church , well that's their bussiness. I guess each case is different (though I don't understand why a homosexual would want to get married in a church that preaches anti-homosexuality)

While I realise the continual reconcilation of homosexuals into normal society is important (as human rights should always be respected) I am pretty much appalled why this practice even had existed in the first place. To me, the thought of having man-man and woman-woman relationships is just horrible! Of course, that is just my opinion (I am a Christian), but I don't really think I need to comment on this subject anymore.
