Insensitive Americans!?!

As you may or may not be aware, France is experiencing a 'heat wave' that is really taking a toll on its people.  The last I heard, over 3,000 people had died from the heat.  Just to show you how insensitive and ignorant some Americans are, I have cut-and-pasted some email takes from a popular sports talk radio show (www.jimrome.com) here in the United States.

Do you find these funny?  Do they upset you or make you angry? Sound off....

-----------------------------------------
Jim,

Here is clip from an AP report:

“Record-high temperatures have been set in numerous cities across France, and the capital has baked under heat at or exceeding 98 degrees. “

Jim, 98 degrees? 3,000 people dying in 98 degrees? These people just have no fight in them at all. I knew they were pretty soft Jim, but I didn’t think they were softer than ice cream on a hot day.

Kevin in Sacramento, where it is expected to reach 98 degrees today and no one is expected to die.

Dear Jim,

The sun is coming up? We surrender.

Sincerely,

France couldn't find any armies to surrender to, so now they're
surrendering to the weather.

Dear Rome,

We knew the French were weak, but heat?

Sincerely,

Germany

Duck in Milwaukee
--
Jim;

How can all those French people be dying of heatstroke? Didn't they plant all kinds of trees so the Germans could march in the shade?????

Steve in Calgary listening on the Fan 960
--
Dear Jim,

Now do you understand why we couldn't go with the U.S. and support the coalition effort in Iraq. It's too hot over there!

France
--
Dear Jim,

French people are dying from heat related injuries because the human body requires clean pores for sweat to cool the skin.

Sincerely,

showers

Its too bad they cant run from the heat.

I'm American, and I think those comments are just horribly cruel. What radio stations won't do for "shock value" is beyond me. They should be ashamed of themselves.
I feel very mush sadness and sympathy for the vicims of the heat wave.

I think spreading this kind of stuff is just as bad. Khayman. I dont care where your from but theres BS everywhere. As far as I'm concerned, I'm posting about some right now here in HC.

It's sick and ppl shouldn't talk about it like that but what dose us talking about it do?? I would think in me, it awakens some emotions I'd rather keep low.

Most of those are quite funny.
Also,most of them are BS!

All of those 3000 dead ppl are old ppl!50,60yr old and older! So its not that the french are weak, but that old ppl can't take the heat, and are suffering from overheating and dehydration!
That's quite natural I think

Does France have air conditioners?  If they don't they should get some and if they do, why aren't they using them?

Geez... Here in Australia, extreme heatwaves (many worse than that of France) are very common. I really don't see why the french can't cope with it. Even stranger to see that so many people have died. Not than im insensitive or anything, but I think that the whole thing is being blown out of proportion.

And in addition to that, the French government screwed up in some way, that the old ones didn't get informed that thay should drink lots of water (i think this is correct, but I'm not sure)

3,000? isn't that the same ammount of people who died on 9/11? Perhaps we can start to joke about that as well, now, without being called antiamerican communists...

But seriously, I consider myself to have a rather morbid form of humour, but making fun of people who DIED is just so snowing cruel! (I apology for this. I usually try not to swear in my posts, but this has made as pissed as I haven't been since... I can't remember!) And unneccesary! I hope those guys who made up those jokes get horrible hemoroids and, perhaps worse (at least to them) find out that they have French origins. That would suit them well!

And, I'll bookmark this thread, so that if I ever see anyone who just made fun of the poor old sods attacking someone who made jokes about 9/11 (though that's not better at all..), I will have something to shut them up with.

You should be snowing ashamed of yourself for thinking this was funny!  (Coz seriously, guys and gals! It wasn't particulary fun, was it? I mean, to make fun of people's body hygene? If we should make fun of anyone, we should make fun of the guys who made those pathetic 'jokes' up...)

Portable ACs can be purchased online with adapters (so the voltage/amperage is for french systems) but I hear they are taxxed so frigging much they cant afford them.

Now thats pretty messed up..

I say down with hierarchy.. Slap the governments that surpress the ppl.
