Official Monster Strength Rankings List
I apologize if this has already been posted before, but I'm not sure if someone else would actually do what I did and spend time getting this info. I don't have a life and like making all sorts of weird lists  Right now, I'm working on a Lufia 2 list...I'm organizing everything in the game by lowest-highest xp. The following *is* official even though it looks really strange (well it does to me).

Wow, interesting, especially ranking of
those elementals. It seems unreasonable.
Anyway, where did the ranking list come
from ??? Did it correspond to the ranking
of your score when you finish a map/campaign ??

This is incorrect, XP is given at the amount of hit points you kill, ie you get more xp from a walking dead (15) than you get from a centaur captain (8)
and thats a fact

To make this list, I created a custom map with the map editor and shoved the computer in a corner by itself. I created a lot of ramparts and gave myself one of every unit in the game. The thieves' guild showed Azure Dragons were my strongest unit, so I added them to my list then dismissed the Azure Dragon I had. I did the same with Crystal Dragons, Rust Dragons, and so on. I said this list was official because it goes by how the game itself ranks their strengths.

Read it again; you misread it the first time. This list *is* accurate

The lowest to highest xp part referred to my Lufia 2 list, not this one.

Hehe Rychen if im not totally wrong here i think centaur captains has 10 in hp, regular centaurs has 8 though
But i then ill agree with u Rychen. Zaronji, u cant make a lowest to highest xp list and then put for example centaurs ahead of walking dead (since its like Rychen has explained not true.) Even if it is ranked as a "better creature" is thieves guild, maybe u should call your list something else.

This is not a lowest to highest xp list!
lol, reread my previous posts; the lowest to highest xp list was for Lufia 2....not this game.

To prevent others from misreading what I said, I'll clarify things again...
This list is a list of all the monsters in the game from the weakest to the strongest according to the theives' guild (*not* xp).
The lowest to highest xp comment I had up there referred to the game Lufia 2 for SNES.

That's why I don't trust the theives' guild for certain "Best Monsters" - those wacky sections where you get Storm Els above many other creatures (although, to be sure, they are more useful than Energy Els).

yes....
yes, i have encountered that "devil being better than angel" thing in h3 before... doesnt make any sense.
im not sure how the designers determine what creatures are best, but they must have some strange ways, because i dont know anyone who thinks a devil is bettter than an angel...

well, you could get one devil from refugee camp, then get a bunch of angels from griffin conservatories. That way, he'll NEVER know you have angels
rychen, I think you're right. Numbers, long lists, and rankings get boring REAL fast.

well I for one think that a Devil is better than an Angel (AA is better than AD tho). Devil has the no retail special which is one of the best imo, while angel desnt have resurrection. Just yesterday I played a game where I beat 150 dwarves in dwarven treasure with a single devil (it takes some time tho ). With expert slow you can beat almost any slow nonshooter stack with a single devil. You can never do that with 1 angel. Besides devil beats angel 1 on 1.

You never have that situation.
As a whole, angels are much better... I will break it down.
angels have 12 speed, devils have 11.
angels have 200 hp, devils have 160.
angels do 50 damage, devils do 30-40.
attack and defense skills even out, as angels have 20 20 and devils have 19 21.
angel beats devils in every category and ties them in attack/defense.
Devils have no retaliation, which is great, but despite that, i would much rather have angels.
Oh yeah, angels add +1 morale to your army too.

I said I think Devils are better than Angels imo. I dont want to proove anything to anyone, this is just my opinion. I find devils to be very usefull and their no retail special keeps them alive well if you use them with caution. There are battles where you can win with very few devils instead of many more other level 7 units. Also certain spells are custom made for Devils, like forcefield and frenzy. 160 hp is ok with me, especially when it comes to ressurection or sacrifice. I think red drags are also top contender for best level 7 mainly because of magic imunity.
