Lazy Germans?
There is evidance that Germans are the least hardworking workers, working an average of about 37 hours a week and they have the most holidays too, about 30 of them.
What do you think?

*sighs* You can use statistics to prove anything I guess. 37 hours is just shy of 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, which is 40 hours. That's pretty full time in my book as it's 9-5. Do tell me how this constitutes "lazy"

Yeah. In the 19th century, even children were so diligent to work 14-16 hours a day in factories. We really have become a lazy bunch.

i cant remember of the top of my head but there is a country in europe which works much lower than germanys and much more holidays (either swiss or sound cold country like norway)
I think Britain has the highest workload per week in Europe but America has an even higher one with not as much holidays. And if your a women working these long shifts think of all the money your losing out on due to unequal pay.
Using America for an example women earnings average 76 cents for every buck earned by men. So on average they lose $650,133 for doing the exact same job.

I worked my 14 hour days this summer so I'm not lazy. Hard work too, not sit in front of a computer in an office all day...

Yeah, dude, germans are far from being lazy. Actually they are renowned to be the most disciplined and efficient amongst all europeans! They work less hours because they get the job done faster.

Just mentioning, i had a 5 year inspection on a shoip 1nce.. The elecrical side was 80% of the 3 day inspection with a bunch of chiefs and officers..
We put in more time than I will ever work ever again.. 12, 13 days in a row, 18 hour days.. Night time hours (cuz the power outages had to be late so it wouldn't halt daily work) and we busted R-ases off.
This was for about 6 months btw.. And we hauled alot of electrical stuff off, and back on the ship. (They hid things for the inspection)

Also, statistics can easily be corrupted. In the Netherlands (and I think also in Germany) is can be quite common to work multiple part-time jobs, which would bring the statistic down. And indeed, the Germans are stereotypically hard workers.

In Israel, Russia and Canada Germans have that stereotype so I would assume it's quite universal.

Every country can be critisized. Japanese being hard workers I'm not sure.. I hear they go to school alot more, and they are proffesional (as I've walked the streets of japan)..
I could critisize anyone, and everyone who dosnt try to shape the world into a better place.. 50 years is along time.. Mabey the earth can handle us humans taking away, and making large dump sites & pollution.
*Make prisoners slaves.. Have them seperate trash in all these dumps into resource piles incase 1 day we need wood, plastic, glass, ect... Raise car prices, and make public transportation more convenient* There is a long list of things all of us stupid earthlings could do, but most of us dont care enough to even think about it everyonce in awhile.
Make it a law to seperate trash.. Or a 20 dollar fine..
Plastic bags to hold plastic (we dont have to worry about plastic scraps, and staples.. ect..)

What do you think?
i dont know if you noticed that he said the "Average" works 37 hours a week.
this is way more then anyone else. i mena if the average person works full time, that means that for every unemployed person there is a person working 74 hours a week. lets say 7 percent unemployement that means every other person has to work a additional 2.56 hours to cover. so really most people that work full time works well over 40 hours a week. and that is too much.time to trade in some holidays for some shorter work days.
40 days of holidays = 8 hours x 40 days 320 missed hours. which means 365(a year)/7(days in a week)*5(work days a week)- 40(holidays) = 220.7 days * 8 hours a day = 1765.6 working hours a year.
hmm affter doing the math something seems wrong. in Canada full time work is a average of 2000 hours a year.
we have 10 holidays. 365/7*5-10(holidays)=2005.68 hours a year.
maybe there is something to what soccer said. or maybe Canadians work to hard. I know my dad used to work 72 hours a week before he quit. (was hard saying goodbye to a 70,000$ company car).
