Skyship idea
Listen up:
In a building called skyship factory, You can buy a skyship (Let`s say 5000 gold and 20 wood?), in which Your army can fly over forests and mountains. To land again You must have a 5x5 squares empty space. Would it be unfair? Or do You like the idea?

This would make the terrain features totally obsolete and ruin the game for many maps. When someone gets angelwings or another way to fly, their movement advantage almost guarantees victory, but those methods are rare and hard to find. If anyone could just buy a skyship then you might as well not have terrain features as obstacles at all.
The only way that would make it even possible would be if your hero had an extremely high chance to die in an airship accident, these airships would be very early design and not safe to use, say 50% chance to crash and your chance to crash increases by 2% everytime your hero uses to ship unless you have an airship navigation skill.

Actually, you can fly in a much easier way now: If all the creatures in one army are flyers, they can fly on the adventure map too.

How about a nuclear weapon? Oh oh also the horse will have a rocket launcher in its ass. So each time some one trying to attack the hero from behind he just pull horses tail and here goes rocket. And how about a satellite laser? You know the hero can have a mini computer on his left arm that he can manipulate the satellite. Damn we will need some new type of building for those gadgets. Hmmm lets call it ET house or intrcozmic merchant? Oops I think we ended up in the starcraft.

Correction - you'll have turn based Starcraft. As much fun as a colonoscopy!
(for the record, I prefer turn based games, but Starcraft wouldn't have worked as a turn based)

I don't think it's a bad idea, but you wouldn't be able to fly it yourself. I would be more like something that transports you from one station to another. Just like a monolith actually, although this one would need a certain amount of time. I imagine this could be cool on certain maps.

Well, but that's just sort of redundant, isn't it? Why not just use a portal?
Wait! I've got it! A skyship could work like a portal or a ferry, with an entrance and an exit, but the area in a straight line between the two structures would be revealed to the player--almost like a flying Observatory, except not such a large view, and the skyship service would have to charge a nominal fee...

Well, as I said, it would be like a monolith, but it would take time. But I can imagine a map creator would put such a ferry on the map instead of a monolith for gameplay reasons, e.g. forcing someone to get to some place, but letting it take some time.
But your idea makes a lot of sence, since the hero in the ship would view the area. I like the idea and it makes it more interesting to use this building.
I don't think skyships are too modern for heroes. For example the skyship in 'The mummy returns' doesn't look very high-tech to me.

skyship isn't too modern by any means. i have read fairy tales that had flying ships in them. i mean old fairy tales from the time when planes weren't yet invented. i am against warcraft 2 gnomish airplane or goblin balloon style ships, but i do think that a skyship can be done in a mythologically suitable way. the portal or monolith would make me suspect modern influence much more than a skyship.
the map becoming too easy is another problem.
the amount of health points that you can transport with a skyship could be limited. you should become visible on the map while you are travelling in the air.

But how about battle between the so called "skyships" vzouojjj weee zzzz - in sea-battle it makes sense - you have a bridge between the two ships - and in air WHAT? you'll have ropes? - of course for griffins& other flying birds look-alike that won't be a problem - I'd like to see some BEHEMOTZ swingin' like TARZAN to get to the enemy skyship or '"beam me up Scotty" tehnology - what now?
Or we can just introduce "the flying hero" concept - for that a hero will need just a flying creature like a dragon or whatever for carrying him around it to the point where he needs to be.
