Elements Of Heroes

What makes heroes so great here are my tatics of winning with hereos

1. Sneak Attack: Really I have no idea can somebody up-date me on.  Is it un-expected because I cant really because every time i try the enemy returs to its town to defend it any strategies on that

2. Ambush: Fill your list with heroes with strenght and get into enemys terrirtory and first gather reasources and defeat any extra heroes left in the open.  Then attack the town any if one hero looses you still weaken the army and have left over heroes to attack

Well these are my strategies for my hero attacking so post your strategies and ideas to help me please thanks

P>S i know its in the wrong forum but Tavern is my favorite Post your ideas

My best tatic for heroes is the element of suprise if you can catch hero movement off-guard it can end up a great loss for them also Defensive stance can work for me to stall my enemies

Me I love to use the Hit and Run Tatic to leave your opponent stunned and then control there lives or have greater respect for your since you did damage on their town.  Also Ill like the Ambush tatic

Yes, I also agree that hit&run is great tactic. The most important thing is good timing, for example, with little forces you can "steal" town if you come by day 7 or 6, or even day 1 - only vs. comp.

Well so you only like one main creature what happens if your opponent has 3 great heroes with well rounded armys and you only have one/  What will you do after the main is defeated and they other still has more heroes to conqeur your town tell me how this works for you because all these great armys have weaknessess

Sometimes what I like to do If it's islands or a land with obstacles:

1)find enemy territory and explore it (so you have good visual)

2)If enemy is playing "have one STRONG Heroe" then stay away till his heroe is out of enemy territory.

3)take a heroe with best movement(logistics, same type as enemy land type, pathfinding, artifacts)

4)equip him with  a medium army (u dont want homebase to be attacked)

6) run into enemy territory

7) take as many mines as possible

8)take some of his non-defended castles if possibles

9)get the hell out

7a*)u might want to place guards on some of the mines

10)with the extra rescourses (from all the mines) build up the creatures(from stolen castles) so only his more powerful heroes can take it back.

I belive this is a standard "hit and run"... I like it because U can focus on other enemies after cuz he will be weak, or u can finish him off a bit later with a "sweep" of ur best heroe.
When doing this u should really try to minimize casualties

All of these things are pretty 'ideal' in a preset map, but things get a lot hairier and less predictable when you play on a random map. Firstly, you don't know where the enemy is. Chances are you'll cross paths with his/her main long before you come across their main town.

I find that mine stealing is the best way to draw out an enemy from territory that you can't see. Send a quick scout with a few 'heavy' troops in and back this scout up with at least a few level 2 spells (lightning bolt preferred). Take a mine and then run. It's like tickling a spider's web with a stick, if you do it right, the spider will run out. The opponent will most often retake the mine and then try and chase down your bothersome scout, in which case, you can lead them astray by a day, maybe two at the most. Have your main lying somewhere nearby just in case and if you get the opportunity, dash in and try and take their castle, or if not, make the best of it and attempt to destroy their main.

Things become much harder though when the enemy finds you first. With your main out scrapping up arts and scavenging for gold, you've often left your main castle open to attack. If you can defend your town well and keep enough troops on your main to conquer any wandering monsters, then you'll find your defensive tactics can be a lot more flexible. And if you're a good tactician and can fight larger armies with lesser troops on your main, then you'll be in good stead to slow the enemy down greatly.

As I've just become to realize lately, it's not a matter of how many troops you have, it's about how effectively you use them.

I have one

universal 3-words-long strategy.

Shackles of War
1. Get the enemy's artifacts
2. Don't allow the enemies to get their strong heroes back by retreating.

If not present, well, an Angelic alliance can always work for me. *winks*

a great ambush is using that "fog of war building"  just wait until an enemy is coming and wait for him then attack him or it really handy when u r escaping from an enemy

In multiplayer...

I usually have pretty many heroes hired running havoc.
Thing is that when using quick troops with scouts you can at the sametime explore, take mines, scout for enemy attack, spy, combine armies with scouts to get bigger force (to take town to take opponent scout out) and so on...

I sometimes use doubles. I mean using two heroes with both OK force to scout around but letting them to be close together. Enemy can see maybe one of them and isn't sure is there other around first. Then he maybe sees too and still isn't sure what they are up. Opponent may send hero to get rid of them if they are taking mines or defending town but with combined forces there is chance you get great damage done and the range of scouting is greater than with one such hero. Only thing is to keep the distance right withing heroes so you don't have to use too many turns to combine forces.

Time is money in HoMM games. Use the time right and you have results. Movement rules!

I think that

Using the same tactics is a bad strategy.

One has to be very flexible and think of new and new strategies in order to win. That is, if the enemy is smart.
