I don't think QPs should be given because a mod agrees with the poster whole-heartedly..

Hmm, I've just read that post and it's not really 'chill' and not quite the master piece for a QP... at least IMO

My view on qps.
if you guys notice,everything i ever got a qp for (except for one or two contests) is something i did in the wog forum. But not a post in the osm. does that means i didnt make Ground breaking posts,or good posts that would get a qp if there ware written good? I mean,its a little frustrating,that people gets qp,for spilling hearts,and writing nice long Clear english essays,while I Cant write good English so i don't. I dont have anything against Good posts,but its frustarting. Not that i care about Qp's that much,it's more then its a 'be sure to never be nominated' thing, because of the poor english i'm writing in. I wrote more spilling hearts posts then anyone else,but not for the point of reciving a qp,its funny how some (most given qp for that) and others (mostly me) aren't.

Hey look at me, I don't have any QPs in the OSM either, and I write very good English... I don't think it's that, just that the Mods don't find our posts QP worthy, and remember that quality is subjective.
Of course I don't blame them, it's not like our posts in the OSM are ground-breaking or of extreme quality. If they were, there would have been at least some nominations here in this thread...
(of course, that was my subjective evaluation)

I should have read this thread, then read Mytical's thread in VW, now it all makes sense.
This is an excellent example of why I'd sooner have no QP's at all in the OSM. Its impossible to give them, or even discuss people getting them without members being upset, and it really doesn't feel worth the bother anymore.

i sence a missunderstanding in the foce.
I did not get upset,nor am i complaining,i wish not to insult anything,and nor will i have a problam if someone will get the qp over my rule i was just wanting to make someone think over the points i had to say.
I'm awefully sorry that i've coused it.I probbly should discuss this over hcm.

I disagree with Pan completely. The OSM (along with the Workshop and the Glade) should be the most QP-laden place in HC. It doesn't take much to try to start a game or a comic thread. But to write out long, thought-out posts - now that is quality.

To start a game, no, but to organize it and update it regularly (well, like some games require, such as What do you see in the Picture), it's harder than you think, and it definitely takes more overall than writing a long post once.
But this is like comparing apples with oranges  Different sub-forums have different criteria for QPs.

You said a long, well thought-out post is quality. And I disagree.
"Well thought-out" is a pretty subjective term. Let Forrest Gump do that, and then Stephen Hawking. Afterwards we will see which of the "essays" is quality, and which not.
It is just not that easy. There is more to a +QP than just "long post", "took much time", "2 members already stated "+QP-worthy!!"".
Is it helpfull for others?
Does it lead to a bigger thread / discussion?
Is it interesting for more than 1/2 members?

I think those are fine criteria in OSM.
I mean, I could write a huge article about WW2 battleships, but would that interest ANYBODY except myself?  Should that get a QP with only 2-3 posts in the topic? Nah. Don't think so.

Every forum & thread should have an equal chance of getting a QP.
I actually agree that OSOM is harder to give a QP.
It has nothing to do with this community really.
It has more topics about real life events.
What are we going to do, give a QP to someone for coming up with who is going to be the next president lol.
We need more people to get QP's with replies & not just starting threads.

Lex, he still didn't explain on what grounds he gave a penalty. There is no offensive language or heavy hate speech (okay, there is a little of that) (also, a little spam, but I still want to know what angelito dislikes specifically)

Angelito didn't penalize anyone yet. He's just warning everyone to tone it down a bit, because some people are getting pretty close to being personal.
