Poll Question: Locked-Inside-Room Scenario
Let's try to break some boredom.
You're being locked inside a prison cell for 3 weeks with a CD-player and enough batteries to last those weeks. Prior to being thrown inside, your captors allow you to take only *one* musical album (belonging to *one* of 5 genres) with you to enjoy during your incarceration. As the door of your cell slams, you start listening, listening, listening...
What album/genre did you choose and why?

Hip-Hop Album. Some songs set the mood to Chill. For those super fast rap songs you could try to learn the lyrics so that you could rap super fast.
Or
Classical/Country. I'm not really a fan of Country, but I've heard the music is relaxing.

Chinese Water Torture
If I listened to the same song over and over then I consider that to be a form of torture; much like the water torture method. It could quite literally drive me to insanity. The maddening lyrics and eerie tune would forever haunt my dreams and waking moments. I would probably suffer from dementia as well.
When I was in the military I was sent to experience and be trained for torture resistance techniques; in case I was ever taken alive by an enemy combatant. The best part is being able to talk with someone else being held there. When I had no one to talk to in captivity, silence was bliss. The guards weren't yelling, my fellow inmates weren't crying, and the dogs weren't barking. I've found it to be the best place to sort out the troubles in my life. I knew I wouldn't likely be saved but I also knew I could save myself through inner peace. It helped and I made it through the training in one piece.

Either Radiohead's "OK Computer", or Radiohead's "Kid A".
"OK Computer" cos it's a brilliant album, that I find new layers on every time I hear it; "Kid A" cos it's got "How To Disappear Completely" on it, which again contains the extremely good text line "I'm not here / This isn't happening / I'm not here"
But I'd prefer a book...

Gimme a "Best of" from Bob Marley or UB 40, then u can let me locked up 3 months instead of 3 weeks..
You just have to close your eyes with that music, and u can imagine the beach, the palms, the coconut-drink and 2 hot latinogirls to the left and to the right....and hopefully NO ONE will disturb this scenario after 3 weeks...

Classical...
If I was to spend 3 weeks in a cell with no noise and no distraction, I would use it to meditate.
For me, classical music helps me do this.
