LOL - I'm up late =)
Asking the monitor light to read me my good night story again..
The night is a quiet and calm place, and the white snow lit up by the street lights makes me wonder why everyone is sleeping. I'd go outside but it's cold and noone is there to talk to yet. Maybe if I had a sled.
I don't really want to go to bed, because when I wake up I will have to do some dishes, laundry, and schoolwork.. and I'm still trying to pretend that if I just stay up tonight, the day with the toil of work will never come; that I can just stay in this moment for the longest time, alone with my thoughts and calmness of emotion.
This is my battle against reality. I wish that we could all just have the freedom to think, dream, and explore the world and existance - all the time, if we wanted to. I know that the moment will not last, but right now I am in this moment and the rest of the world is just waiting for me when I wake up.
In a way, it's like it used to be, when I was a little boy, waiting for my birthday morning to finally come. Although I do not know what the future holds for me, I have all the options in the world, and life will be whatever I make of it.
But that's the scary part too isn't it?.. Life will be what I make of it.

From what i gather, it was 2:45 am when you wrote that. Very nice piece. It was 8:45 where I live and I remember I was watching hockey on TV.
I too have these moments during the night, especially when I work late and come back home. Everyone is sleeping and it's sooooo quiet.
I find the night time is quite soothing. But me, I would've gone outside for a little walk.
