Experience of the hero should limit the number of possible creatures he can carry
In King's Bounty (and upcoming DragonBone Stuff) there was something really cool: If hero didn't have enough EXPERIENCE he could not carry a lot of soldiers or he cannot CONTROL them.
So something like
CONTROL = (HeroExperience) / (AllTroopsPoints);
AllTroopsPoints can be their Life, or points given to each unit - for example DWARF may be 20 points, but may have 25 control points. By this some creatures can be MADE more controllable, the other not. Also points for control over creature can be given by following formula
CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS = BASE_CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS
IF CONTROLLED_BY_WARRIOR
CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS = CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS + smth.
ELSE //CONTROLLED_BY_MAGCICIOAN
CREATURE_CONTORL_POINTS = CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS + smth_else;
IF CREATURE_IS_FROM_HERO_RACE
CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS = CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS + smth;
ELSE
CREATURE_CONTORL_POINTS = CREATURE_CONTROL_POINTS + smth_else;
if CONTROL is less than 1.0 then ARMY can be with less MORAL, or he cannot control this army at all.
if CONTROL is over 1.0 then everything is good.
There can be SECONDARY SKILL, MAGIC (control), SPECIALTY aboout this.

Well, I personally dont like this idea. I would be too complicated. What about heroes in the beggining, they need a larger army to advance ya know, or of you loose your main and have a less experienced hero, who cannot control all of the troops you have..... No, dont like the idea.

maybe
Yes this could be a good idea to introduce into the heroes saga. Definitely new and innovative.
I believe that a hero should not be able to control a level of monster which exceeds it's own level(or attack/defence skill or somethin). The hero could still transport these troops (if there are still chains etc.) but in combat they should be controlled by the computer through auto-combat(maybe creatures would have seperate attributes which effect it's reactions in battle when not controlled by the hero).
When the hero attains a level (attack/defence skill) which = monster level, he/she will be able to control it in battle.
Also this may be useful for spellcasting as well. If the hero does not meet the required level(spell power/knowledge) to cast a spell, it will be randomly cast upon an enemy(if offensive spell) or ally (defensive spell). This would make fourth level spellcasters(Solymer or Deemer) a little more risky to use in the beginning.
Anyways just keepin the thoughts flowin. Opinions on this fresh idea wanted.

Nah...
Leave this idea for Kb and DragonBone staff, but don't put it into heroes.

I posted a fame idea somewhere... It originates from KB. Could do in HOMM. As in black dragon would not obey a boy recruit newbie.

You can wait for others to do it, but if they don't know how, you'll wait forever.
Be an example of what you want to see on HC and in the world.

my way or the high way
i think that if it exeded the leadership number or what ever you call the control factor, if should get fixed -1 moral, and if it suffers from -1 moral, instead of loosing its turn, it attacks a random unit, this way you can TRY to control a black dragon with a newbie recruity, and it MIGHT work... and it MIGHT not

Changes...
I like the idea, but some changes. First, mak the crappy Auto-battle take over. Then if the hero is STILL not high enough exp. level then they should start losing moral bonuses.
