Community help needed ... (My RMG )

Hi guys, As alot of you may know i've been working on a RMG for quite a while now i'm now getting to the last curve of my early version which is the first version playable -it may not be great at first i do hope it will still be better then the sucky ubi RMG even in this early stage..  I'm trying to publish for download this first version hopefully withing this month but i need help in many different areas to help me finish it even more quickly ..

First type of help i need is regarding data for the rmg , Basically it will be small tasks of 2 hours max per task , I need 1-2 people that willing to give away from their time , You don't need to know anything really i will explain exactly what needs to be done the tasks i need help on are :

(ofcourse for anyone willing to help i will explain exactly what i need.. )

*I need empty maps files in all Sizes ( Extracted - meaning the files inside the .h5m files , Inside dirs with names of sizes.

*Write Relative points for every object to where its guard needs to be .

*Check out all object and write their first rotation position .

*Write Power of all Creatures in the game (from fan manuel) as well as making avarage power for each level (level 1 avarage power,level 2 ,ect )




Also i need help with a place i can potentially publish the program for download (need a server)

(Ves maybe you can help here? can i use toh servers for the rmg so people will download it from toh servers.. ?)


I need some wiki site i can enter help for the program so people will have a place to learn how to use it ..

Here's some rmg info

RMG is based on templates , This is current template options:

Zones : You can set the % size of each zone out of the total map size

Mines : Allows to determine exactly how many mines on zones ,Including an exact number for each mine (including abandon mines ) - You can also by setting appear chance of less then 1.0 make a random number of mines .

Monster Strength - Will determine the avarage level of monsters inside zone.


Terrain - (Currently only grass in the future all ofcourse)

And Object sets -
Inside you can determine exactly which objects can be inside a zone including going to spacifics like exactly which objects will appear and which will never appear and which will randomly appear ect ect..

for example to ban a spacific artifact in a template simply remove it in all zones


In the future i hope to add a section for dwellings , As of now they will be included in object set section .

*Notice the chaos weeks option with it i think it can make some interesting games - Basically all weeks will be affecting weeks so no more "calm" weeks - can spice the game

And This is maybe the most interesting a sample of the latest created map - still a long way to go but its coming together slowly - this is based on the template u see in the other pictures of 4 zones with 25% size each ..

Hi Nevermind! Thanks for your work... If i understood right, in your rmg generator, player creator of random map can configure each zone settings apart ... This can open big possibilities for cheating... How do i know my opponent not put more mines, artefact's in his start zone, etc ?

hm.. must be an antidote for this..
edit: maybe cause settings is same applied to both players? you do once and is applied mirrored..

Well i thought about it some when creating the rmg and the reason the zones are not mirror that - atleast how i see it , If a player can be creative enough to create a template that is not mirror but still balanced - Imagine 2 players each have an equally yet totally different advantage and they need to use it for their advantage.. That for me atleast is the ultimate random map...


In any way there are alot of cheating preventions that in order to cheat you need to be a master mind and spend alot of time on it..
these prevent cheating :

1) Most obvious you can ask for the template and examine it and after the game if you suspect cheating see if the map matches the template.

2) And probably simplest solution - Players are randomized between starting zones meaning a stupid cheater will think he is cheating but if he is "lucky" - the opponent will get all the goodies.

3) Time and date of generation will be on map file name and map name - You can see when the map was made.

These things i think make cheating very hard ..

Mirror maps are extremely popular on TOH, so is good idea to have a option for mirror maps in generator, that way we will get more people to  RMG party

This can work if on map are only one type of terrain, but as Sylvan i don't want start by chance on snow terrain

I hope your RMG will support native terrain for factions, to start game on native grounds....

That option is not disabled all you need is to duplicate settings for all players

Ofcourse native terrain will be supported(later on) and its not a problem since first players are randomized and then zone according to player settings..

Nice that someone really wanna make a "good" RMG generator...
but why don't they work togehter than just by them self...  

Like the way it is now...  (several ppl. wanna make "gunpowder" by them self...
