Er - I thought sacrificed creatures disappeared from the battlefield, making it impossible to resurrect or otherwise reanimate them!

Furthermore, Inferno does not get Sacrice everytime. Aside from other spells they tend to get Summon Fire Elemental often also.

Armageddon is the most powerful spell in the game if: you have inferno, dungeon, rampart or conflux.

I don't want to offend you, but you obviously haven't got a clue how to use these spells, that's your problem. Quicksand was one of the best spells in H3 and rules in H4. ForceField was great too, and there are good uses for the other two, too.

The spells, that I never use in hmm3:
(Note: that I never use, not the worst or something like that.)

1.Magic Mirror - there are not enough time to cast it !
2.Land mine - Well, you can't place the mines (exeption Tower siege)
3.Quicksand - Same
4.Remove Obsticle - Why do you need to remove obsticle, which slows your enemy ?
5.Clone - I neve use that spell, to expencive.
6.Diguise - AI attacks me even my slots are "filled" with Azure dragons.
7.Shutle Boat - What a lame spell
8.Forune - I told ya I have no time to cast this spell.
9.Force field - Make it unshootible, than Maybe I'll think.
10.Fire wall - Lasts shortly, does low damage.

you've never cloned ArchAngels, the cloned stack can ressurect your troops also..
or
clone legions of skells in necro war..

In final battle clone is one of the best lvl 4 spells.

As for remove obstacle..

only once have I needed to cast this spell.. but need it I did.

Ancient behemoths pinned between a large obstacle, ammo cart, and ballista.. they could not do anything except get pelted by shooters and spells.. let me tell you Remove Obstacle was definately a handy spell to have!

And with expert clone yeah! cloning any lv7 unit is very effective.. test how much dmg your meteor shower does compared to the 5-10 anceients doubled

each spell has its plus and minis side to it.  

i had situations where remove obstacle really helps out.  in the case with the anciets, i have had that happen several times, and believe you don't want behamoths sitting in the same spot for 3 rounds of battle where they can be moved in, bloodlusted(ogre magi) maybe blessed from hero, or hasted.  also regarding the harpy trick, yea i've won battles with 10 harpys because the dentriods couldn't get around fast enough.  when they do you move them.

as for force field, i personally haven't used it, but i'm sure there is good uses for it, as someone else mentions

same for quicksand, i haven't used it, but i'm sure it can be effective

magic mirror needs to have been made more effective for it to be a lvl 5 spell, i only used it when genies use the random spell castings.  

armageddon bad?  it can be really useful.  suicide might be a good option to win.  you cast it to eliminate your imp, and it could take out many opposing troops and ease the tension when they are super strong and trying to capture your town.  works a lot better with the efreet trick, fire elementals/phoenix/black dragons.  then you surrender and repeat.

scuttle boat bad?  that stops the enemy from accessing it to flee from you, or to trap an enemy on an island (always fun).

i think landmine and fire wall are some of the weaker spells, but i don't use those either, so i'm sure there can be good uses for them.. anyone have information on this?

2 other spells i didn't use was view air and earth.  i didn't see the need to cast those.  what about these?

View Air and View earth are amongst the best spells of the game. You get to know where to go and how to go. It is really important. It sounds crazy you never used these spells. You must be a very good player if you still managed to win (or you fought lamers).

Actually if you really think about it.. Land mine can be an immensly powerful spell

If your hero has even a 1 spell power...

Exp fire, fire orb, and say 4 knowledge...

at 8 mana I think? per casting you get 8 mines..

so thats a potential of 4 castings.. 32 mines.. doing 200 dmg + 100 dmg each.. so 300 dmg potentially per mine..

4 castings litters a battle feild with these little babies and could potentially deal 9600 dmg to your opponents troops with a 1 spell power!!!

That sound weak or crappy to you?

I am almost sure, that I have never used  Quicksand, Remove obstacle, and land mines, except testing.

Forcefield is useful, when You defend your castle, and the gate is opened by catapult. Firewall: does not work against human- they can see, where it is. AI tends to cook creatures.
IIRC, dispell works on landmines.
Please, also post how many % boost you would see for worst battle spells. I am personally interested in those values..

You can also clear utopias with exp forcefield and 1 arch devil,  or some titans, or a good stack of Sprites and some fodder.  Forcefield is a very powerful spell.

With a unit in the left top corner, an exp forcefield will prevent any large creature access to the unit.  So providing your units speed is higher, or at least buffed higher, you can never be hit.  While mana allows.

But first you have to wait the blackies to move in order to take its place (the top left corner wich you mentioned). And they are slower than goldies, so you have to wait both of them. So its not so simple.

You don't need a corner for forcefield, u just need a place to the very left.

Hmm, I really didn't like spells such as Bless, Berserk and Curse.
Somehow none of them resulted in instant effects such as my all time favourite (Chain) Lighting (Bolt).

You are right angelito, i forgot that advaneced FF is three hexes. But if its basic, obviously you need the corner.

Still, there is the question of speed. Unless you have devils or archangels you will have to deal with the blackies and goldies.

And then you won't be able to kill them with the angels(Arch devils: no retaliation), except i you can kill them in one hit (Wait, attack new round return). Or have ranged units and a unit with higher speed than goldies and haste the ranged ones and then you can't use forcefield.
