Generic Fantasy RP - OOC
Step 1: Creating Characters
- Go for a stereotype
- Add 2 or 3 very unusual character traits
- Add a fatal flaw; bonus points if it ties into his strengths
Step 2: Creating a Setting
- Start somewhere familiar, like a tavern, castle, or dungeon
- Add elves and goblins where necessary
- If possible throw in a legend or two to spice things up, bonus points if it happened more than a thousand years ago
Step 3: Creating a Plot
- Hopefully when you created your character or setting, you should have a good direction for your story, at this point the plot writes itself
- To keep your readers interested dig at your characters fatal flaw, to give them setbacks toward their main goal
- Get them out of trouble by using another characters strength; bonus points if the two characters bicker at each other about it afterwards

My Character:
Name - Hace T Hakinslashe
Personality - Rushes into things too quickly, yet his brute strength and determination often gets him out of trouble.
Unusual Traits - His left eyebrow burnt off when he was young and now has a tattoo of an eyebrow as a replacement. He's broken down his door several times only to realize afterwards that he left his key in his other pocket.
Catch Phrase - "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
Weapon of Choice - Whatever is closest and easiest to reach.

Alright
- Go for a stereotype
A cynical wizard who, in the course of his adventures, has become quite bitter.
- Add 2 or 3 very unusual character traits
He's neurotic, and strict.
Something unusual...  he insists on wearing a black, leather hat which is'nt very fashionable (or so he has been told). He only smokes tobacco made by people shorter than four feet. This either means he likes child's labour or he only trusts dwarves and other variations of little people.
- Add a fatal flaw; bonus points if it ties into his strengths
He's entirely uninterested about what's happening in the world around him. Consequently, he barely knows the ruler of his nation or a lot of spells...
Name: Wits R. Marks
Personality: Reserved and emotionles. He usually is either frustrated or bored.
Equipment: leather hat, tobacco supply, travellers cloak, black boots, some riding gloves, green trousers and white shirt.
I'd love to give him a catch phrase 
"See, if you had listened to me and had done X on thingy Y then Z wouldn't have happened, ya bontz!"
"Why am I still travelling with you?"

My Character:
Name - Aim A. Hore
Personality - She is a Young and attractive lady who always wears as little as possible and is always atracted to the alpha male and exists only to keep the manly heroes from looking gay. Very prone to be kidnapped by the villains.
Unusual Traits - She is so usual that its unusual. She also thinks that the world will one day be taken over by an ancient order of stamp collectors.
Catcphrase - None... Yet!
Weapon of Choice - Dual daggers and screaming for help.

I'll join this, and see where it goes. Looks like it could be interesting.
Going with a character that I had for a DnD campaign, but modifying it a bit. Well, a lot, but it's close enough. Removed the wide variety of carried weapons for throwing, and the barbarian class, among other things.
My Character:
Name - Shug R Smaks
Personality - Unusually strong, for a bard-like being, with nothing of significant use going through his mind, most of the time.
Unusual Traits - Wears some odd piece of, what one would assume to be, clothing, that has several gauntlets hanging from it. Can't help but hop, skip, and jump around, 'singing' about nonsence, instead of moving around normally. Can easily be caught unaware of his immediate surroundings. (startled easily, mostly)
Catch-Phrase - "What? Where?"
Weapon of Choice - Whatever is available to be thrown. Gauntlets are the main choice, but if there's none available, anything would do. Might fight with punches, from time to time.

Generic Setting
Name: East Bum****
Description: This town is out in the middle of nowhere and usually doesn't see a lot of outsiders. It's out of the way location has kept it out of wars and even raids from barbarians. In recent years it has become a popular place for refugees. Lately outsiders have heard of underground caverns that contain magical crystals, however the mines have heard to be cursed.

Something that came to mind, for this little brainstorming session.
Generic Setting:
Some Church/Temple/Monastery
This structure was built in seclusion, far from civilization. Aside from their usual study in the ways of the divine, they take the kingdom’s crime-less nuisances sent to them, attempting to turn them into model citizens. Lately, chaos has struck the members of the faith, as a terrible prophecy is nearing the time it was foretold to be.

Winward the MAD wizard!: A powerfull Chaotic Evil Insane Wizard, Winward's Vain and Erractic demeanor can cause strife and trouble in the most calm times. In is free time, he creates various magical beasts to aid him in battle. However, when he is confronted with Bunnies, Pink Underwear and Pork chops, he completely turns round and becomes a good, lawfull person, at the expence of his Magical powers. If he's confronted with Pink Bunny chops, he falls unconcious for 24 hours.
Winward doesn't have a full home. He roams from town to town, untill he has completely destroyed the previous town. The Only place safe from Winwards destructive powers is the Ivory Tower of the Realm's Archmagi, a tower which is completely unharmed... one day Winward hopes he can destroy it... for Bunnies sake
- If possible throw in a legend or two to spice things up, bonus points if it happened more than a thousand years ago
- At the Start of the Adventure, Winward is near the village of Aglasad, in the North of the Realm... but not for long, as he's searhing for a way to destroy the worlds most invulnerable structure: The Ivory Tower. However, there is a big problem. The Area around the tower is having a bunny plague. Bunnies are everywhere, extinguishing Winward's twistedness...and magical powers. Winward had a Good Twin brother (cliché, Cliché), named Ainswick. Both are able to channel their power to each other, sometimes leading to Ainswick become Evil and Powerfull like Winward and Winward becoming a Benevolent and Naive welldoer, like Ainswick. Ainswick is vulnerable to chocolate. If Winward and Aiswick Channel, they will gain eachothers traits for 24 hours, but keep their initial weaknesses
Winwards appearance: Long, untidy hair and ditto beard, long Purple robes that hang to the ground, with a mismatching green pointy hat on Winward's head. Winward wears thick glasses, to mask the wild expression in his vivid green Eyes. Winward usually doesn't use weapons, and prefers to hurl Fireballs at opponents. If needed, he can defend himself well with Macestaffs and Quarter Staffs.
Catchphrases:
-I know Dragons with Feet like Rabbits! It's true, I SWEAR!
-I AM BECOME DEATH!! DESTROYER OF WORLD
-YOUR ONLY PURPOSE IS TO DIE BY MY HAND!!!!

Oh oh oh can I be a bad guy?
Name - The Dark Lord Zorthrbwarg
Personality - An ancient evil warlord awoken from his 5000 year slumber by a foolish and ambitious mage whose soul he devoured. According to the ancient elven prophecy, he shall be defeated with the ancient sword forged by the ancient gods in the ancient mountains of Gladeron by a young hero known as the Chosen One. Known to delight in chilling at abandoned temples dedicated to evil worship and tall, black, ruined towers. Speaks to himself. Often. Commands legions of orcs, goblins, trolls and undead, summons demons and uses hooded black riders whose faces cannot be seen (known as the Shades) as his commanders. Uses a giant, green, hulking beast known as Ghor as a guardian to his main chambers.
Fatal flaw: Delights in unnecessarily slow but certainly murderous and delightfully vicious mechanisms and plots which are supposed to destroy the chosen one once and for all, so that my domination over this puny world is complete. These plots, of course, fail on a regular basis.
Unusual traits - has a plush manticore he calls Finky. He relies on Finky. Heavily. There is no telling what might happen if someone took Finky away.
Catch phrases - "Vengeance shall be mine!"
"Mwahaha!"
"This time... they're done for!"
Weapon of choice - a spooky black sword and an even spookier large black mace.

Okay, a setting (though it's a clear rip-off from the elder scrolls)
Jail: you wake up in prison for some horrible crime you committed. The guards are sadistic bastards and the food is awful. You have finally somehow redeemed yourself (like doing the time) or you found a means to escape.
'on the road': you are a vagabond, a weary traveller offering your skills with the sword or spell for coin. You spend most of your time escorting caravans and travelling from town to town. Your other activities include: drinking in seedy bars, brawling in seedy bars and sleeping in seedy bars. The seedy bar can be replaced by an inn, when you're halfway from your destination.

Also, are we brainstorming some plots as well? If so, I've got something in mind that would use one of my character's flaws.
I over-use commas, I think.

My Character: Xerces Mooncry
Name - Uh... Xerces Mooncry
Personality - Trapped in a world of teenage agnst, Xerces copes by wearing black and writing poetry. Somewhat depressed and off-putting with a nihilistic attitude. Good at killing dreams.
Unusual Traits - Has the odd ability to slip into "Goth World", a dark, depressed parallel dimension where everyone likes Fallout Boy and broods about how much love hurts. On a plus side, coffee and cigarettes are relatively cheap there compared to reality. He has also dabbled in the dark arts with little success other than managing to turn his hair black through the ancient Mabaline potion.
Fatal Flaw - Depending on how emotional he becomes, Xerces can be trapped in Goth World for days at a time. This phenomena occurs because at his peak emoness, the residents of Goth World view Xerces as a divine emissary sent by the dark powers below to guide them through the darkness and pain. The problem, of course, arises out of Xerces's strange relationship with the dimension. The longer he remains, the happier he becomes due to being accepted and an understanding populace. Unfortunately, Goth World inhabitants look down on happy people or Haps and seek to kill them whenever they appear. Therefore Xerces has to be incredibly careful not to spend too much time in the bleak realm.
Catch Phrase - "If only you could gaze into the deepest chasams of my soul. Only then could you truly appreciate how painful it is to smell roses."
Weapon of Choice - Words. Hurtful words. Oh, and spite. Years of getting beaten up have rendered poor Mooncry very spiteful.
Generic setting:
Suburbia. Xerces spends most of his time in his parents's basement escaping the pain and hurt of the outside world. When emboldened or required to attend school, he bravely treks out onto the mean streets of suburbia. Overrun with nuclear families, soccer moms, and people who say hi for no apparent reason, it's sunny, upper-middle class Hell.
