Lies!

There was this medieval Polish kingdom but they eventually got absorbed and became part of Prussia. Then when Prussia was falling apart, Poland was like "FUUUUUUUU you" and became independent as Prussia deflated. Then WWII happened and Poland got sandwich-banged by Germany and Russia. Then they became independent again.

A good and thorough history of Poland with zero help from google or anything else.

Without looking it up on google, wikipedia or anything, give me a simple, yes/no answer to this question:

Does the following picture mean anything to you without additional context?

Also, for reference, please add your age and country of origin.

This is something my brother asked me to do, what with a conversation he's had.

Yes.

Ohhhh, those are the guys that made the strike in Gdansk, 1980... My favourite Yugoslavian band (Azra) made a song about it ("Poljska u mom srcu", "Poland in my heart")...

Didn't have a clue those were them.

Here's a translation of the lyrics if you're interested.

"Gdansk, 1980
When the autumn said no
Gdansk, 1980
We had our fingers crossed
Miners, students, the shipyard, all of us

Gdansk, 1980
Agitated factories
You can't send tanks
At the workers twice

They didn't dare
We won, all of us

Poland, in my heart
In my heart mazurka
Poland, no it never,
never gave birth to Quisling

Every day polonaise
Rings in front of my door
Polish amber
Bracelets
Volodja watches
Sunroof at half the price
Pope Wojtyla and I

Gdansk, 1980
Agitated factories
You can't send tanks
On the workers twice
Tanks on workers
Tanks on workers
Tanks on us..."

See, I didn't even know I knew about it

Oh and the text sucks cause I just took the lyrics and translated them into English in three minutes... It's much better in the original.

It's not very clear and I have no idea how you came to such conclusion.
Actually, I would say, they don't, but in reality I'm not certain. You seem to be. Why?

Quote:

How would you draw such conclusion either? They may be known, but so are those letters known to "western" countries. So why the conclusion?

Really, I am just curious, especially because you live in Asia.
