This post isn't as crazy as it sounds.
Remember from recent history that it wasn't until the 60's (or was it even later?) that the dangers of cigarette smoking were fully realized and acknowledged. Until then, they were just a product like anything else. I don't even think there were age limits on buying them. I wonder if energy drinks are the underestimated hazard of today? Maybe 20 years from there will be an age limit on them.

More sugar and caffeine (normally) then pop (or soda depending on where you live ). We all know that pop (or soda) is bad for you, and it is a suprise that these drinks are also????

These drinks are bad because of other things in them such as Taurine for example. Plus the much higher caffeine content in them. So basically, I'm screwed. lol

And yet I don't really drink soda, lol. I skip over from my regular juice, water, or tea, and go straight to energy drinks.
The effects of Taurine can't be that healthy because if I drink a few energy drinks over the course of a few days and then stop for awhile, I'll get headaches. I know breaking away from caffeine can do that, but don't you have to drink a bunch of it over a pretty long time for it to do that?
edit: People refer to soda as pop where you are? I thought that was just a local quirk in Philly.

Energy drinks have more sugar (or a lot do).
Well I have heard both, and know that different places call it different things. So soda, pop, carbonated beverage...it all good

lol, Acu - I'm not going to explain it to you... I guess you're just not getting it *grin*
To be ontopic though, i have used the drinks at work sometimes when i really feel like I can't stay awake anymore - and the only time I felt adversely affected by it was when I hadn't eaten anything all day or night and then had one...A pin could drop ten miles away and I'd be jumping outta my skin. It was unpleasant
