skills and stats discussion with a bit calculation
The first will be on stats/skills, more will follow if you guys like it.
The idea is to have a hero with more balanced stats rather than concentrating on one stat. Let's discuss it in a bit details.
+2 att=10% damage, +1 luck=10% damage on average, but we'll see one is preferred than the other sometimes and vice versa other times. Assume you are against neutral creatures without enemy hero and you have luck 0 att 8. Assume the creatures are the same and so you have +40% damage. Now we compare +2 att and +1 luck. For 10 hits, +2 att will bring 1.5*10=15 damage while +1 luck will do 1.4*9+2.8=15.4 damage > +2 att.
But if you have luck 4 att 0, +2 att will give 1.1*6+2.2*4=15.4 while +1 luck will give 1*5+2*5=15 < +2 att.
Similar analysis can be done on att/def that balanced stats are better. The only exception is when charging factions are against magic factions.
This is useful when visiting arena (+2 att or +2 def) or choosing skills. On a map with plenty of luck/morale boosters, the corresponding skill may be less effective.

Hey that's not too bad.
I always thought of luck ~+10% = (9x1 + 1x2) / 10 = 1.1
and yeah +2 atk ~+10%
(given same start conditions atk=def).
So that's something I didn't think in that way before...
Seeing many situations where lucky hit wipes out a big stack, it is too much of a potential bonus not to be missed (ie. +1 luck is much better than neutral luck + equivalent average bonus IMO)
Seeing 2nd comparison above is interesting too in terms of selecting artifacts & skills.
I don't know what else you were thinking of...
Perhaps apply some thoughts to defence (where def > atk)
and
also comparisons of atk/def/luck/leadership & assoc perks retrib/pwr endurance etc for a specific faction eg. haven would be nice & then with empathy thrown in as an optional extra

Interesting, I'm curious to hear more. Of course my experience with luck has allowed me to think of it differently - may happen on first attack, late in combat with the stack weakened, may seriously lessen retaliation or kill a stack that could have otherwise blocked you or be resurrected to play immediately etc etc. But I am certainly interested in hearing a quantification of the parameters.

Elvin, IMO att vs luck is like a tradeoff between payoff/risk. You get 5% for sure or you get 10% but it might not trigger. Also luck has 50% limit while att hasn't, so if the perks in luck are not very good for your faction (knight/necro), I usually let it go and search for other boosters.
The point is that if you are already good at one aspect, having more on it isn't as good as making up your weakness (under normal situations).
This is also why I doubt the settings of skills. The difference between expert luck/att and adv luck/att is less than that between basic and nothing. On the other hand, the difference between expert (light/dark/...) magic and adv magic is wider than that between basic and nothing.
Other things I'm considering is for example
1 compare slow/weakness/suffering and same for the light ones.
2 units damage per hp/per round
3 the turning point when might skills overperform destructive spells.
Do you guys happen to know where I can find a nice table of units stats so that they can be read into some programming language easily?

The manual of course, it's in the FanDocuments folder of tote's directory. Alternatively you can download it from the manual sticky or check here.

Yeah, I have the manual, but it's in pdf document. I would need a less formatted form (like csv, txt) so that I can input the data into a programming language.

I wouldn't call the Luck perks for Knight/Necro bad. Sure, Necro has little use for Soldiers Luck (unless you have Vampire Princes) but they can get Dead Mans Curse without it and Magic Resistance never hurts.
Knights on the other hand get plenty of uses for Soldiers Luck with Bash/Assault, Bash again, and Purge.
Now Leadership for Necros is something I wouldn't ever take...

Copy/Paste it to word or notepad? (not sure if that would work tbh)
