Right after that he will walk on water and shoot lightning from his fingers.  Seriously, if he is able to do something like that, it WOULD be a miricle.

Edit : Oh and there is something that I should mention about the tax system here.

You can have them hold extra out, and get more back at the end of the year (or owe less).  You can have them hold less back and get less back at the end of the year (or owe more).  For instance though I can claim 2 'dependants' (one for being me, one for only holding one job)..I claim 0 so I get back a large chunk of change at tax season.  I take home LESS per paycheck however.

Wanting to contribuate to this thread, I realised I actually aren't aware of what I pay in taxes, which is quite weird as I should have been paying them for the last several years, but I don't remember ever getting a letter or anything that told me to pay something.

Maybe it's done automatic? Just reminds me, I don't actually know if I have any money at all, it just seems to be there when I need them, weird I haven't noticed that before.

Many taxes are subtracted automatically from your income or higher price on products here too.

Missed this when you made it Angelito, sorries for that.
Anyways, here's the same for finland.

Example, 4000 € gross:

860 € wage tax(21,5%)
759 € town tax(18,98%)
64 € church tax(1,5%)
59 € health insurance(1,47%)
39 € health insurance nursing pay(0,93%)
16 € unemployment insurance(0,40%)
180 € pension insurance(5,7%)

In the end he will get 2023 left for him. But it he will be able to deduct at least some of the pension insurance and unemployment insurance from his wage tax and at least some of his health insurance from his town tax so the total amount will be somewhat higher, probably around 2200 to 2400.

Wage tax is progressive depending on income.
Annual Income     Tax at lower limit    Tax percent of the amount exceeding lower limit
15 200 - 22 600   8                     6,5
22 600 - 36 800   489                   17,5
36 800 - 66 400   2 974                 21,5
66 400 -          9 338                 30,0

Town tax is dependant on where you live and varies from 16 to 21 percent of income. It is not progressive.

Church tax depends on where you live and varies from 1 to 2 percent of income. It is not progressive. If you are registered to the civil register and are not on church books you do not pay this tax.

Insurances are obligatory. Pension insurance rises to 5,7% when you are over 53 years of age. Otherwise the insurances are stable.

@JoonasTo

The Town tax is called Municipal income tax I think. (goes to the municipal you live in) Just to avoid the confusion.

Yes, I think that's correct translation.
Too lazy to edit though.

Interesting how low the health insurance in Finland is.

In Germany, it is at around 7,5% right now, but for BOTH sides! Means, the employee pays 7,5% AND the company pays 7,5% too! So it is 15% in summary.
