Well, I was referring to the retelling of the same “warriors train up villagers” story. If these turn out to be original, well-written stories, I’d be more than willing to give them a chance. The original trilogy is something I adored in my childhood after all. Am I optimistic about them though, not exactly. Rouge One was well done, Solo was okay, other than that, all was disappointing. So, we’ll see.

I have the same relationship with Star Wars as I do with Star Trek. They can keep cranking out new shows or movies indefinitely and I'm fine with it. Granted, some are good and others suck (I'm looking at you, TLJ).
Andor is going to be a spy thriller. Ahsoka will star the powerful force user (I've watched The Clone Wars animated series, so I already love Ahsoka). Rangers of the New Republic I'm assuming will be a sort of space cop show. Boba Fett will involve the crime world. The Acolyte will be about the rebirth of the Dark Side after Return of the Jedi. It's all set in the Star Wars universe.

I watched some of the original trilogy years ago, but I only remembered the two robots (which I already forgot their names). Years later, I happened to watch that movie with Jar-Jar crap in it. It was one of the foulest stuff I had ever watched. I tried to watch the following one, but it reminded of F-Zero game, and I lost interest (I think a lot of people might have rated that movie 10 just for the guy with a dual laser-saber-laser-taser) – also because the main characters were not convincing.
Then, I watched the one with the gal not long ago, Rogue/Episode/Whatever One, because it seemed Jar-Jar-free, and also because a friend of mine wanted someone to accompany him at the movies. As I had nothing to do at the moment, I decided going. It was marginally entertaining. Affronted by not remembering the original trilogy to get a grip of anything, I decided to watch them again.
And that's all. I really don't get at these movies much, nor Star Trek for that matter. Watched basically one time each of them (that I can actually recall watching), and that's that. Didn't know there was this multitude of stuff lurking around either. If anything, it makes me less inclined to watch them.
****
And next episode for Expanse tomorrow. o/

Well, you can ofc ignore it purposely and don't care. I'm not a fan (as in: I don't binge on any new announcement they make in the franchise) but I do remember being quite invested in it when I was a kid. Even to the point of buying toys and stuff. After so many years the original trilogy (even remastered) looks silly at most to me, but you gotta be aware of the impact those had on pop culture and cinematography. So getting to at least know these movies and not disregard them is something I think you need to do if you consider yourself a nerd. But that's my personal opinion.
My interest in Mandalorian simply came from the fact that there was a lot of talk about it. I got curious and I wanted to see where they go next from the dumpster fire that was TLJ. For me the franchise was dead at that point, lost almost all interest but then came Mandalorian To some point I can say it even rekindled my interest in SW - at least I don't ignore it anymore.
At this point I kinda became a "supporter" of Favreau because the fact this man is getting the praise for how you're supposed to treat the fans (even if it's probably a TRAP! set by Disney) kinda gets to me. While at the same time I wish all the worst for Rian Johnson to the point of his movie not being even considered canon anymore if that ever happens. So Jon's success and fan response based on what he does for the fans as opposed to the scummy Johnson is a win for me and I feel good about it.

WandaVision.
I started with hesitation after first two episodes, but the third one got me hooked in good. Now it means I am awake 1 hour before the next episode airs, lol. Last episode coming soon, in less than 2 days. So Good.

WandaVision is good.
That said, if they are planning to bring WonderMan into the MCU, I will be quite miffed.

I'm holding out on Wandavision until I can splurge on it. The trailers look very interesting
I finished the most recent season of the Great British Baking Show and it was very addictive to watch. I recommend it for anybody who likes contests or cooking shows.
Now I'm finally watching Star Trek Discovery. I'm loving it so far. The makeover for the Klingons apparently embittered a lot of people but I think they're very well done. It's too early to compare it to previous Star Treks but there seems to be less wit and humor in it and a much grittier feel. Not necessarily better or worse, but different, and fun!

The new Voltron is extremely well done. I was planning on just watching the first episode for curiosity since it was a childhood favorite but now I'm actually watching watching it.

Between the Mary Sue of a protagonist, and the fact they did the Klingons rotten?
Not much. I can't really call it out on the forced diversity, because even TOS was pretty anvilicious.

Huh? You think the protagonist who is getting beaten nonstop is a Mary Sue? How? Do you know what that term means?
I know some people don't like the Klingons (personally I love how they give them a more 'alien' appearance instead of looking like somebody who slapped a gel mold on their forehead) but I didn't even realize the main character was an issue.

My dude... If I was running a Star Trek RP and one of my players tried to submit such a character, I'd have turned them down on the spot. That's self-insert fanfic grade bullsnow there. Which is... arguably worse than what the OG Mary Sue was.
